About Me

I moved to Arizona from Michigan after graduating from Western and I am currently teaching special education in the Phoenix area. YES. . . ladies and gentlemen, I am molding the minds of young children. . .scary huh?! Anyways, I really do love my job even though I don't make enough money to buy a house. . .but hey, there is nothing wrong with living like a college student even though you've been out of college for 3 years . . .right? OK so maybe I can afford one. . .it's just that the words "30 year mortgage" scare the shit out of me. My students are my pride and joy and I only have to threaten them with physical violence a couple times a day. I LOVE Arizona weather, scenery, and the lack of 10 foot snowdrifts in winter. Sorry to all of my Michigan friends who are scraping the ice off their windshields and layering on those not so flattering wool sweaters. . .I spent my day sunning by the pool drinking a margarita. It's ok, you can hate me, I understand. Fortunately for me I get summers off and can get out of the crazy heat here and visit my old stomping grounds in northern Michigan. Arizona may be great, but nothing compares to the Pigeon River Forrest, real green grass (not sod), 10 lakes within 5 miles of your house, and a night sky full of stars (the smog here is awful). I am so lucky to get the best of both worlds.CURRENT MOON
