Z was born into an intolerant and unstable world as William Michael Muncie. Growing up in times where color determines how you are viewed, Orlando, Florida native Muncie ? who will be known forever as Z ? would knock down all the obstacles ahead of him to live his dream as an artist of black, white and Puerto Rican descent.He came up through Norfolk, Virginia ? ultimately moving to Arkansas at age 16 where he broke out locally on Little Rock radio call-in contest, The Roll Call. He battled it out with rappers around the city to emerge victorious 13 weeks in a row.With this momentum, Z landed a series of opening spots for artists including Lil John, Ying Yang Twins, Nappy Roots, Raven Simone and Rasheeda. Venturing from his base in Palm Springs, California, Z recorded his as-yet-unsigned debut album, Brain Child in Dayton, Ohio ? home to renowned funk artists including Zapp/Roger Troutman, Slave and Lakeside. He is joined in the studio by The Runners contributor, Bigg Makk; Swizz Beatz collaborator, Antwann Frost; and Ronald “PNutt†Frost, Dayton’s producer of the hour for artists ranging from Jewel and Jill Scott to Algebra, Jazzy Jeff and The Deele.A self-made man of a million voices, Z cites an interesting mix of influences ? from Jay-Z, Outkast, Missy Elliott, Ludacris, Eminem, and the Bad Boy team, to comic inspiration from the House Party movies, Muppet Babies and Inspector Gadget.Now Z is ready for the world with his off-the-wall rhymes, mind-blowing energy and bangin’ dance moves. Folks will yell, “Wow!†But in Z’s world it sounds more like “WOWZERRRS!!!!!!!
