About Me

I am a blur of past and present experiences here on this plane of existence in this form for the meantime. I love meeting people and making new friends. I tell long boring stories if you let me and I like to spend a lot of time reflecting. I'm interested in new ideas, philosophy, coincidences. I like most things in excess but practice moderation. I'm a little too dependable, not enough predictable, i'm mostly neurotic and hopelessly romantic. "To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides."- David Viscott

Music:

I like just about anything new that transcends the idea of genres. playing right now- my ipod, world music and great mixed cd's that blend the old with the new- bastard, space and canto pop, soul shakedown, funk, trip hop, easy tempo, karaoke tunes, gypsy ballads, dub, melodica, electronic, christmas, cuban, flamenco, folk, instrumental, experimental, jam sessions, electronic, beats... honestly I enjoy anything I can shake my ass to or something that makes me stop for a moment to breathe and listen. and not to be sexist or anything, but I prefer women djs. keyboards. strings. percussion. bass. drums. brass. guzheng. and guitars not so bad either.

Movies:

royal tenenbaums, edward scissorhands, moulin rouge, run lola run, garden state, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, adaptations, fight club, sliding doors, while the cats away, knights tale, kill bill, I 3 huckabees, science of sleep, anything foreign, old kung fu flix, and old scifi, narnia, V is for Vendetta, the secret

Television:

could live without one. but could watch the food network all day for recipe ideas. "the smallest bookstore still contains more ideas of worth than have been presented in the entire history of television." -Andrew Ross

Books:

I like self-help and philosophy books. (The art of happiness, being peace, the four noble truths, living in balance, healthy aging.) I've been working on a book called turquoise forever! I love all beat poetry and literature as well as classics. Lately i've been reading stuff by women about women. I collect mainly vegetarian cookbooks. I've usually got a stack of at least 5 i'm working on and heard somewhere that book lovers never go to bed alone.

Heroes:

mother teresa, his holiness dalai llama, thich naht hahn, gandhi, martin luther king jr., martha steward, nigella lawsen, michael moore, my neighbor, moby, ani difranco, julia butterfly, anybody with enough audacity to stand up to this mostly cruel system of unexplained wars and stolen elections.
