Falling into Autumn

About Me

Falling into Autumn is a one woman band from Portland, Oregon made up of three different awesome ladies branching out of Heather. Pulling most inspiration for songs out of break ups, hook ups, and all together fuck ups. Heather is the lead singer, guitarist, and also the oldest of the three girls by two point five minutes. She's been writing since she could hold a crayon and ironically still uses one most of the time when jotting down lines. Though, without the musical stylings of Kit and Pippen this band would...well...it would still exist, but for the sake of sounding dramatic, this band would never have been born into what can only be described as the terribly confused folk, elctro, riot grrl, funk that it is today. With all beats being machine produced through one set of tiny fingertips and words that are mostly on the spot while the red light is on, they play their music in hopes that people can relate or feel down right silly singing the scratchings of lyrics Heather produces. They play because it's all they know...

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: www.thesixtyone.com/fallinginto
Band Members: Heather- Lead vocals and Guitar
Pippen- Synth, Keyboard, Piano
Kit- Backup vocals, Drums, Tambourine

Influences: From the sound of a pressure washer, or noises they hear at night while falling asleep in their three story bunk beds, all the way to Ani's newest album and that out-of-this-world guitar riff Sleater-Kinney lays down. They're influenced by the life of music and music seems to be influenced and re-invented by the life of Falling into Autumn.
Other great bands that the girls have been influenced by, but are not limited to: Tegan and Sara, Rilo Kiley, The Postal Service, Death cab for cutie, Le Tigre, The Go! Team!, Bjork, The Gossip, A fine Frenzy, Cat Power, The moldy Peaches, Kimya Dawson, Shannon Wright, Imogen Heap, Lilly Allen, KT Tunstall, Joshua Radin, Garbage, No doubt, The Breeders, Veruca Salt, Tori Amos, and Yael Naim. So thank you to them and many many more.

Sounds Like: Heart-bleeding memoirs of past longings and future dreams.

Record Label: Unsigned.
