About Me

Hmmm, this is probably the most difficult section to fill out... I'm was raised a Navy brat - and I'm proud of it - so I was born in Pensacola, FL but have moved around tons since then. I enjoyed the military life so much, I am now in the Navy (just like my daddy was!) on a medical school scholarship and am looking foward to paying back my time (I love seeing Marines in their dress uniforms!) Personality-wise, I guess it would depend on how well you knew me - initially I'm kinda shy and probably seem aloof or maybe even a snob? but once I get to know you a little I'm very open, a good friend (or so I'd like to think) and can actually be rather loud and playful. My sense of humor is very sarcastic and, to someone who isn't in the know, I can come across as rather mean. I don't play games because I don't know how and I have no problems calling it like I see it, so if you want the answer sugar-coated, you probably shouldn't be asking me! I'm moody, lazy, a tireless volunteer, devoted, sweet, sour, kind, careless, emotional, stoic, and so many other things, depending on the day.

My Interests

I love reading, talking, people watching, music, almost anything outdoors-y, travel, languages, animals of all sorts, and anything to do with water, snow, or ice. I'm not a hard-core competitor - I play to have fun and I'll try almost anything once.

I'd like to meet:

interesting people

Music:

I really enjoy music of all sorts... I'll listen to pretty much anything but hard core rap or death metal. I really don't understand how people can work without music - wherever I am I almost always have something on, whether it be country, jazz, top 40's, or Christmas carols in July.

Movies:

As much as it pains me to admit it, I am a female who doesn't particularly enjoy chick-flicks. (I'm sure there's a law against that somewhere...) Give me an action, mystery, or comedy almost anyday. If I'm not too braindead at the time, something that makes me think is also welcome. I am currently learning to appreciate/deal with horror films but I think it will be a while before I truly enjoy them - right now I still need someone to hold my hand through the scary parts!

Television:

I don't watch a whole lot of TV... I don't really have the time. However, given the opportunity, I will try to catch some pro-football (I try to be neutral, but push-come-to-shove, I'd have to take the Seahawks!) or any of the various crime shows that are on now. The nerd in me also enjoys stuff like Animal Planet, the Military Channel, anything to do with medicine, National Geographic, and the Discovery Channels.

Books:

I love to read. If it's in English, I'll read it. I'm serious! Everything's fair game from textbooks to mysteries to fiction to biographies to the info pamphlets at the DMV to newspapers (especially the comics) to the back of the cereal box... everything!

Heroes:

My parents. Corny and over-played, I know, but so very true.
