About Me

My name is Nicole. I just recently moved from northwestern Pennsylvania all the way south to Rocky Mount, North Carolina. I'm just a small town girl, living in a semi-big city. (compared to my hometown) There is so much and yet so little to tell about myself thus far in life......FAMILY: I was fortunate to grow up with both parents in my life. They have been married now for almost 27 years. I grew up with 4 siblings. 1 older sister, 2 younger brothers, and a younger sister. Until my younger sister was born i insisted that all the other kids were a mistake and i was supposed to be an only child (which is impossible since i was the second born) Interesting Fact about myself: when my mother was pregnant with me, i was actually 1/3 of a set of triplets, however there were some complications and my mother miscarried the other 2/3 of the set and the most stubborn, pig-headed survived (ME!!).....SCHOOLING: I went to a small school. Elementary school was k-6 and the Jr./Sr. High School was one building 7-12. I graduated in a class of 48. (yes, 48. very small) I went to a small liberal college named Thiel College in the small town of Greenville, PA. There i got my Elementary Teaching Degree......CAREER: I've worked (very hard, i think) since i was 16. I got a job at a nursing home, and continued to work there and pay my way through college. After i graduated, i worked part time at the nursing home and worked as a TSS Worker (Theraputic Support Staff Worker) for a year. I worked with children who are diagnosed as behaviorly challenged. A very challenging job, but rewarding at the same time. Then i applied for a teaching job in north carolina, interviewed and here i am......DREAMS: There are so many things i want to do in life. I would love to travel to other countries. I want to teach dance to the physically and mentally challenged. I want to have a family. Along with many other things......That's me in a nutshell !!

I like trying new things. I do enjoy dancing, going out with friends, shopping occasionally, relaxing, and watching a sunset.

I'd like to meet:

I want to meet people who are down to earth and live in reality. I like people who don't feel like they have to "go with the crowd" but can just be themselves and not care about expensive clothes or what's "cool." But just be comfortable with themselves.

Music:

I listen to just about any type of music. However, I'm not particulary fond of rap, or the really twangy country music.

Movies:

I enjoy action movies, typical chick flicks, and certain "kids" movies ain't bad. But I usually have to work up some courage to see scary movies, unless i have a big, strong handsome guy to sit next to and protect me during the scary parts of the movie. I do have to say though, my current favorite is Notebook. That is absolutely an awesome movie.

Television:

My favorite TV shows currently are Gilmore Girls, Desparate House Wives, Grey's Anatomy, and any of the CSI/Law and Order type of shows.

Books:

As silly as this sounds, I enjoy reading typical "kids" books. You know the ones that are chapter books, but usually kids would be reading. I never enjoyed reading when I was a kid, and as a teacher I'm learning to enjoy what I missed out on as a kid.

Heroes:

I don't have any specific heroes, but I guess my hero would have to be anyone who stands up for what they believe in and go the extra mile to chase their goals. Oh yeah, and aren't afraid to stand out in the crowd, and march to the beat of a different drummer.
