Ali - The World's Greatest who got the crowd yelling boom-bye-ye

About Me

When it comes to poetry, some consider him to be “The World’s Greatest;” but Ali Langston is merely a poet trying to live his dream, and hopefully change a few lives in his path. He developed a love for writing at an early age, but it wasn’t until away at college where he joined a group of poets, later to be known as Black on Black Rhyme, when his gift truly began to flourish. Ali amazes crowds of all races, and nationalities, as he relentlessly strives not be categorized into one genre of poetry. His debut album “Signature Pieces” took the poetry world by storm, and while to hear him on disc is one thing, to see him perform live is an experience to behold His range of topics and spectacular stage presence leaves audiences astonished. Many people have heard poetry, but his clever word play brings you to the point you feel you lived the lives of the characters in his work. He’s also no stranger to competition, quickly making a name for himself on the slam circuit. In 2003 he took 3rd (individuals) at the Southern Fried Region Poetry Slam, and helped team Pensacola to a 11th place finish at Nationals. He also took 1st at the All Florida Listen Up Slam. The following year, he led the Pensacola Team to a 2nd place finish at Regionals, and finished 5th in the Individual World Poetry Slam (IWPS). He has performed in cities all across the country. So, whether it’s his hometown or yours, crowds can be assured that whenever this humble poet approaches a microphone every effort will be made to live up to his stage name “The World’s Greatest”.
