About Me

I am a member of OUTmusic.
I am also a collector of music by LGBT musicians/spoken word artists/ comedians/recording artists. My original intent was to own ONE CD by every LGBT artist that I knew of. That was my original intent--and then I discovered that I liked a lot of the artists, once I bought a CD, so I acquired the rest of their CDs. Well needless to say, I have quite a few CDs in that collection, and a wish list of CDs that I want--that is getting longer every day!
I have also been writing performance reviews of LGBT musicians since August 2001. It's a great free time activity.
I also send out daily birthday greetings to LGBT musicians all over the world! It's my small contribution to this musical world.
Here is the link to some of my reviews (more to be added as time goes by): http://www.stonewallsociety.com/GLBTArtists/RonRanWaitewinge nt.htm..

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I have had the chance to meet many of the artists that I admire and have written about. If I haven't met them, then I at least own their CD's. Many of these artists are listed in my Friends section. There still are a lot of talented LGBT musicans/artists that I want to meet, I try to get to as many concerts as I can. Even if I've seen/reviewed an artist before, I'll go to their concert again, because talent is talent, I love good music, and support is important.

I collect the birthdates of LGBT musicians and others. I have decided to start listing the birthdays on a weekly basis here:

Tony Rois 26-Jul
Robin Greenspan 26-Jul
Tim Halloran (Spink) 27-Jul
Lyndell Montgomery (Ember Swift) 27-Jul
Nedra Johnson 27-Jul
Marcus Hutcheson 28-Jul
Chris VonTanner 28-Jul
Phil Putnam 29-Jul
Elaine St. George 1-Aug
Carol Leifer 7/27/1956
Alexis Arquette 7/28/1969
Tim Gunn 7/29/1953
Yves Saint Laurent 8/01/1936 - 6/01/2008

If there is anyone in this list that you don't know about--then you owe it to yourself to check them out--you'll be glad that you did. You can see their pictures below and perhaps even see a selected video:

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them.'

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
