The Texas Snowmonkey Sanctuary

About Me

The Texas Snowmonkey Sanctuary is a band like no other. They have been together since 1997 although they have yet to write a single song. Every encounter with the members has no expectations or preconceived ideas of what the music should be, and that is where the magic lies. Their improvised jams can take twists into super danceable grooves, utter chaotic intensity, or twist into melodic hypnosis. All 5 band members have extremely broad musical influences, any of which can show themselves when they are in the depths of a jam. Damien Contessa on Guitar and Vocals lays down tasty rhythms and melodies on his axe as he lets loose with his freestyle vocal narrations. Jeremy Korpas of Days Awake (www.daysawake.com) on Guitar rips into solos that give the jams their voice and identity and he can slam into a groove showing how he has studied the likes of Tony Iommi, The Edge, Jerry Garcia and many many others. Chris Vidiksis formerly of Cetacea (www.cetaceamusic.com) on the Bass holds every imaginable groove together like industrial strength cement while taking it to the next level. Adam Vidiksis on Keyboards with a background in Music education & composition adds the ambience and texture to the bands sound (check out Adams compositions right here on myspace.com/adamvidiksis). Andrew Lenaghan of Juggling Suns (www.jugglingsuns.com) on Drums brings up the bands intensity while keeping the music moving and tasteful. The Texas Snowmonkey Sanctuary's live debut at the Sunshine Festival this past June was only a taste of what this band is capable of. Many people should be thankful that the members of this band are currently unable to make this their full time project because the human race is nowhere near ready for it. For further info, or to be added to the band's mailing list send an email to [email protected]. Don't forget to check out Jeremy and Andrew in their respective bands (Days Awake & Juggling Suns) right here on MySpace in the TSS friends section. Although Cetecea is no longer a band, their myspace page is still active as well as the website (www.cetaceamusic.com). It is in your best interest to experience, not just "listen to" but experience what Chris and the rest of Cetecea had created.
