I grew up in a relatively small town just south of San Jose, California called Morgan Hill. After two years at West Valley College, I transferred to UC San Diego to major in linguistics. As I neared the end of my junior year, I began to wonder, "What the heck am I going to do with a degree in linguistics???" I put that decision on hold and went to South Korea for a year and a half as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. When I returned to UCSD for my senior year, I had decided to go to graduate school. I spent the next three and a half years at San Diego State University pursuing a master's degree in communicative disorders/speech-language pathology. I have now been working as an elementary school speech-language pathologist in San Diego for about six years. I love my school and the fabulous educators I work with, and no day spent with young children in special education is ever dull! I keep busy doing lots with my church, spending time with friends, planning trips, and relaxing with a good book or a crossword puzzle. Recent travel destinations include Australia, Italy, Austria, Germany, and Rexburg, Idaho - good times and legal home pyrotechnics!!
