the Look Away ex-Lanemeyer

My name is Sean and I play guitar and sing in this band. I used to play drums in a band called Lanemeyer from New Jersey. In the year 2002, I moved to Florida. Its hard to play drums in apartments. I was also burned out on music. I started to play guitar. Basically, I realized that I needed something fresh. I also realized that many of the songs I love by my favorite bands are easy to play. I learned all of them and taught myself guitar. Im still not great but my friend Matt Faciana told me I could sing one day so that helped.
Sometime in 2005 I felt I was ready to start a band. I started playing with a guitar player named Andrew Dominques who was a good friend of mine. We tried out a few drummers and found Matt Bennett through a mutual friend of mine. We played one show with a fill in bass player. We then found Chris Merrick. We played a bunch of shows and it was fun. We got drunk alot too.
Pretty much starting from day 1, certain members did not see eye to eye on how the songs should be and what members were good enough to play. Matt bitched about Chris and Drew not being good (and probably me behind my back). Drew, Chris and myself bitched about Matt. Chris quit the band one day. Matt was happy. Then enter Mike "bass" Ramondi. He immediately saw what its like to play in a band with Matt "I can play all your instruments better than you" Bennett. Mike began to bitch about Matt. Matt still bitched about Drew. We played a few more shows.
Matt still bitched about Drew. We all still bitched about Matt. So what did we do? We fired Drew. Why you ask? Cuz we thought Matt would now be less crazy and Drew didnt seem to care about the band anymore. WRONG. Drew cared and Sean and Mike lost a friend. Not to mention, after having a guy named Josh play one show with us, Matt then tried to get Sean kicked out. Thats where I draw the line. Sean started to feel like he did in 2001. The creative life was sucked out of me...him. You know who I mean. Sean told Matt goodbye.
Sean and Mike will continue to play music together. We will record some songs eventually. Matt Faciana (guitar player not crazy drummer) will probably play some guitar with us and maybe even some all star type surprises from bands you may or may not have heard of. Stay tuned.....of by the way. Drew calls Matt and not Mike or Sean. Weird huh?
