Thanks - Color the Coast ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------Color the Coast, hailing from Mobile, Alabama, combines the catchy melodies and layered harmonies of early sixties pop/rock with heartfelt lyrics and an upbeat tempo. Formed in January of 2007, Color the Coast has since recorded their debut album “Unplug and Run”, which is now available on iTunes and Rhapsody music. With popularity growing in the southeast, the band has received radio air play in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Color the Coast looks to expand their fan base to a national level. In a recent poll conducted by TK101, a Pensacola, FL radio station, Color the Coast was voted the best local band. Color the Coast began as the solo project of Nick Chamblee. In January of 2007, Nick had a chance encounter with drummer Matt Arensberg at a local college party thrown by Kyle Duncan (To be mentioned later). After much convincing Matt agreed to join the band and the two immediately clicked. The duo continued to write music and eventually decided to recruit a bassist. Long time friend and honorary family member of Nick Chamblee, Kyle Coffey seemed to fit perfectly into the band. He moved from Tuscaloosa, Alabama back home to the coast in May of 2007 and the group began recording at Jada Studios in downtown Mobile. With a 3 song EP under their belt, the group gained confidence and began selling rough copies of their music at local shows. A copy found its way into the hands of Kyle Duncan, former band mate of Nick and Coffey. The group then asked Duncan if he would be willing to sit in on a local gig to help fill out some of the instrumentation that had been added to the recent EP. After one show, the band realized the advantages of having a fourth member and Kyle Duncan became the last member to join Color the Coast in July of 2007. The group booked more studio time and finished recording their debut album, “Unplug and Run”. Color the Coast has no intention of performing as a local or even regional act. They have every reason to believe that they can succeed on a national level. With over twenty-five original songs representing various genres of sound, the group continues to mature musically and lyrically, reassuring that the best is yet to come.-----------------------------------------------Nick Chamblee, the singer/guitarist fronts the band. The only thing bigger than his six foot, two inch frame is his ego. He enjoys fighting with Matt and streaking . . . not at the same time. The band is anxiously awaiting Nick’s television debut on “Cops”.------------------------------------------ Kyle Coffey, the bands bass player is the rarest of them all, only venturing from his natural habitat for band functions and cigarette runs. Easily the most vain member of the band, he loves his hair and pretending to be “punk”. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---- Matt Arensberg, the groups drummer is the eldest member, with a voice as high as a 10 year olds and a face to match. He was discovered playing congas on the Hawaiian Islands. Matt enjoys the taste of Spam and the effects of liquid Tylenol.---------------------------------------------------K yle Duncan, known by the locals as Kyle Drunken, is the guitarist/pianist for the group. He enjoys keeping the peace and being emotional. In his spare time, in between waking up and doing nothing all day, he likes to organize his own O.C. marathons. Summer Roberts . . . he’s coming!-----------------------------------------------*Speci al Thanks to Brian Carr and Carey Dekle.*For booking information, e-mail us at [email protected]
