I don't know anything about music. In my line you don't have to. ~ Elvis Presley ...................

About Me

Sociology Major, working on my B.Ed. part-time, runner, health-food junkie.. Really enjoy red wines, parties, family gatherings... I love and respect ALL music, from jazz, baroque & progrock to R&B, bluegrass & gospel... ALL music has its place and is a perfect expression of life. Acoustic guitar teacher (beginner levels), own an old Yamaha FG420 12-string, Norman classical, Capris 6-string acoustic and Ovation Applause (ya, entry level, but I love her) as well as open-hole flute.

Music:

Players, singers and bands that I like in no particular order: Pat Methany, Diana Krall, Genesis (before Garbriel left), King Crimson, The Who, Godsmack, Stones, System of a Down, Dreamtheater, DMX, T-Bone, Dubmatique (French rap), Thelonius Monk, Dave Brubeck, Joe Satriani, Usher, Bruce Cockburn, Focus, George Benson, BB King, Weather Report, SRV, Loggins & Messina, Yes, Herbie Hancock, Neil Young, Lee Ritenour, Andrea Bocelli, Fourplay, Incubus, Gypsy Kings, Stevie Wonder, BB King, David Gray, Aros Ramazzotti, Arc Angels, Eagles, Rankins, Garth Brooks, Gordon Lightfoot (older stuff) Robbie Robertson, Paul Simon, La Chicane, Harmonium, Beau Dommage, Francis Cabrel, Joe Bonamassa, Yellowjackets, Dan Tyminski Storyville & Malford Milligan, Stan Rogers (RIP, dearest Stan) Loreena McKinnit ........

Movies:

Usually end up watching movies everybody else is watching- movies I don't like: those high-action, blow-up-in-your-face, overly patriotic, torture/gore, or just generally stupid block busters with "way cool" special effects. ahem...ya ok, whatever.... .... Movies I DID LIKE: Fastest Indian/Good Will Hunting/Waking Ned Devine/Devil's Advocate/Men in Black I & II /Nearly all of Adam Sandler's movies/Shallow Hal/Green Mile/Shawshank Redemption/Greatest Game Ever Played/Nearly all John Travolta movies/Catch Me If You Can/Most Will Ferrel movies for some strange reason/Gosford Park/Matrix I/Miss Congeniality/You've Got Mail/Finding Forrester/Chariots of Fire/Educating Rita/Cider House Rules/LV/Rorey O'Shea was here/On a Clear Day/Crime Spree (and that's the general gist of it)

Television:

Not much of a TV fan - Truly, truly dislike reality TV shows, especially those that humiliate others. I generally resent the whole Pop Culture thang that is reflected on TV - the hype stresses me totally and makes people totally detached from humanness....Damn!

Books:

I like to read about both French & English languages for some strange reason ....newfangled dictionaries, history of language, etc. But don't ell anybody! I keep a copy of Dan Brown's Angels & Demons on the table so people think I am normal...............Also, am in school, so reading means textbooks most of the time, unless I have a John Grishom close by.

Heroes:

we're all heros
