A random conversation with one of her English teachers after school helped Breezi make a decision that would change her outlook. Her teacher suggested she take a Drama course to help her overcome her stage-fright and better her performance in front of strangers. She followed this advice and took Drama under the instruction of Jennifer Scialabba, a teacher who would become a mentor and friend. Breezi confided in her and told her of her hopes and dreams. Her teacher helped her express all her feelings and emotions into actions and movements and taught her how to convey the emotions of her words into her performance. Breezi didn’t know it at the time, but this course would really benefit her writing and rapping. She continued to take drama course up till her graduation in June of 2006.
After talking it over with her parents she decided to take a year off from school, to figure out what she wanted to do career wise. She kept debating about different career paths. Her answer came in the fall of 2006 with a chance meeting with Joshua “J Curry†Curry, a local artist and music producer from Beatdown Production/Entertainment on myspace. After discussing a possible collaboration on one of his projects the two became stead friends and she dubbed him her “PARTNA.†Not long after he introduced her to his cousin and fellow Beatdown member/founder, Odell “Otrocity†Payne who she nicknamed the “BEATMAN†of Beatdown. Otrocity, helped her work on rapping and writing to various beats while J Curry helped her find her rapping style. Months later Amber was also introduced to Mario “2xs†Click, another member and co-founder of Beatdown. Together the Beatdown crew helped encourage her rap talent and her ghostwriting and succeeded in doing so.
At the end of 2006, with divine intervention from God, she was brought into contact with her brother-in-law's mother Ruthie Richardson-Robinson, a local entrepreneur and owner of TRC (The Real Church) Entertainment and CJ Music Production, who took her under her wing and showed her the ropes in the music business through a Christian manner. Amber is currently working as an assistant for TRC Entertainment and hopes to learn as much as she can, before attending community college to study Entertainment technology.
Other artists who influenced her music and helped her become the person she is are: Her close friend, Terrick "T Breezee aka the President" Mangel, of Tri Quad INC based in Winston Salem "Tre 4", NC; Her big cousin Garrett "G-Quinn the Crucifer" Braaf a holy hip hop artist in Sunrise, Florida whom she came into contact with through another cousin, a model and former Miss Suriname, Lindsey Kamperveen. Breezi also holds a great deal of love and respect for her "Big Boss" at TRC entertainment, Ruthie "Triple R" Richardson-Robinson and husband and music extraordinaire and jazz keyboardist Chris Robinson; and Zee, a holy hip hop artist from outside of Winston Salem who she views as a "positive role model for children everywhere."
"I'm really more of a ghostwriter than anything. Writing is my biggest passion and music is deep in my core. I can see concepts and put them together before anyone has a chance to exhale. I'm more of a behind the scenes type of person, so it's really rare when I actually get down and decide to RECORD a track.
I rap a little every now and then, as you can see, but it isn't my main focus or something I really want to pursue, but I love it just as much either way it goes. If I do, however, get behind the mic you'll catch me acting a fool & most likely doing spoken word.
When it comes to BUSINESS NOT Bullshit I am real focused. I will tune everything out and get on the grind and make sure everyone around me stays focused.
I like promoting independent artists or whatnot. I'm real cool peoples and don't discriminate. Do What you does, y'digg?"
anything else you want to know just leave me a comment or send me a message.
My Musical Men
They bring out the music in me, literarly
1.Joshua "Partna" Curry - MY PARTNA... Your my partna in so much shit. I called u my partna musically first b/c you got me to think about working on songs and helped me realize my potential. Now we got our partna moments and we can read each other when nobody else know what's going on lol. U still the first one i go to when i need someone to hear one of my new tracks and u always on my collabo list.
2.Odell "Beat man" Payne - SICK ON THE BEATS... what more can I say? Watching you in a beat making process is inspiring... energy in the room is krazy. You're like a big brother to me, not just someone I look up to musically.
3.Mario "Favorite Vocalist" Click - You're forever there when I need you to sing me something. You bring all the vocals in my head to live. We gotta do some more collabos.
4.Marlon "Muzik Maker" Bunche - You brought "Meet me at the mall hoe (i miss you)" to live. Thanks for hearing my vision. You got me to finish a song all the way and thought me how to get my shit recorded. Keep working on them beats. I know we been through some shit friend-wise and said some shit. But i'm glad we dropped the beef and get to business again.
