About Me

Dead Space Downfall Trailer
About me: I started enjoying performing, and writing, at age seven on the piano. At that time I really wanted to learn to play the acoustic guitar. My hands just weren't big enough yet. Today they have starter guitars that can fit into a child's hands. I eventually started a band in grade school, and my music teacher gave me a tape recorder. He also played acoustic guitar, and showed me some chords. That was the start of my recording bug. From there I learned acoustic playing styles from mentors like Mike Roeder, Walter Beil, Terry Syrec, Paul Hanson, and some bass guitar from Timothy Fritz, and Tony Janflone Sr. My interest in getting a richer tone, and cleaner sounding recordings grew with me, as my writing progressed, and the bands got larger. I purchased my first four track recorder from Vick Deprey, in PA, and started to record my groups & some local bands. Then when I hit college, I got into the DA88's, effect's processors, outboard gear multi channel English Mixing Boards, microphones, and various technics to deploy them in... and which ones to use for the job. Starting out on the piano ended up being a good thing for writing though, I learned midi patch bays, computer music editing, and composing, and scoring thanks to the keyboards digital breakthroughs, with computers. Today... I'm still at it. I use the Roland 2480CD loaded with full automation and much cooler gear. I still enjoy writing, playing, scoring, engineering, photography, filming, and art. The toys are just way cooler...;) God Bless the People Who Teach Me to Sing... David Hildreth

Band Members: David Hildreth- Keyboards, piano, vocals, bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, percussion, drums. On some material I must say some very amazing studio artists, and friends, who's professional contributions took some of these songs to a whole new level. Awesome Studio Artists I've had the pleasure of working on projects with, and highly recommend: Drummers: John Daner, Heather Brugioni, David Shaw, Bruce Harris, Brian Palmer, Danny Garret, Chuck BithornPercussionists: John Daner, Heather Brugioni, and Chuck Bithorn. They add so much with so little. Tasteful is an understatement.Guitar Solos: Paul Hanson, Dan Fincham, Kenny Porter, String Harris, Frank Mavrich, and Brian Morrison. Take your pick; they are all different styles, and all deadly bad to the bone.Bass: Steve Jenkins, Timothy Fritz. Are in the pocket, and can punch you right in the chest.Sax: Johnny Banko, I have to add, that John is freaky awesome, and a perfectionist, I love it!Trumpet: We call him "Tappy" He's very accomplished, and also a perfectionist I love!
Influences: Pink Floyd, Ben Harper, The Carter Family, Billy Joel, James Taylor, Almond Brothers, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Tori Amos, NIN, The Beatles, AC/DC, Kiss, Led Zeplin, Live, Faith No More, Kansas, David Mathews Band, U2, Sting, The Police, R.E.M., Henry Mancini, Xylaphone, Bellefleck, The Train Jumpers, Randy Keener(The Mad Hatter) and so many more. I think I'm mainly influinced by my surroundings.
Sounds Like: A lot of different styles... it depends. It's a song for a songs sake really.
