What Does it Mean? How Does it Make You Feel?

About Me

I was tragically born without a personality or a sense of humor. When people say, "hi, how are you?" my mind quickly drifts off to random meaningless questions like whether or not the combined spoon and fork utensil known as a spork (snowpeak has a great titanium one available at http://www.tadgear.com/x-treme%20gear/snowpeak_titanium_spor k.htm) represents a combination of male and female forms in the name of technological progress and convience that threatens the very fabric of society, or if I'm just seeing a complex emotional meaning in an ordinary obect that may not deserve any of my nonsense. Maybe the spork is art. Maybe it just saves weight for backpackers. Maybe I should've paid more attention in school. What was the question? Oh, how am i? Right. Just fine. And here are some neat quotes:“We are free to do what we want, but we are not free to want what we want.” -T.E. Lawrence (from the movie)"Let people who do not know what to do with themselves in this life but fritter away their hope for eternal life. If one lives intensely, the time comes when death seems bliss. If one loves intensely, the time comes when death seems bliss. The life I want is a life I could not endure in eternity. It is a life of love and intensity, suffering and creation... As one deserves a good night's sleep, one also deserves to die. Why should I hope to wake again? To do what I've not done in the time I've had? All of us have so much more time than we use well... Lives are spoiled rotten by the sense that death is distant and irrelevant... But it makes for a better life if one has a rendezvous with death... There is nothing morbid about thinking and speaking of death. Those who disparage honestly do not know its joys." - The Faith of a Heretic (Walter Kaufmann)"Until one is committed there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one elemtary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans; the moment one definitely commits oneself, then... a whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in ones favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamed would come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now." -Johann Wolfgang von Goeth
