About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4Hey everyone! My name is Javin Mather :-) I am currently a student at Boise State University studying developmental psychology for my bachelor's degree. I love being abl3e to connect with all of you! This page will hopefully give you a bit of a window into who I am and what makes me me! Okay.....that all sounded kinda retarded, cliche', and "oh good God, can he be any more original?!". Anyways, thanks for checking out the page boys and girls. Enjoy!Make sure you pause the audio track before playing any of the videos :-) "What I've Done" -Linkin Park "The Best of You" by the Foo Fighters, perhaps the best AMV I've ever seen. It'll be a day like this one when the sky falls down, when the hungry and poor and deserted are found...This AMV features swords...alot of them :-p

My Interests

This is another toughie.....there's a good chunk of things I like to do: Reading, watching movies, listening to music in general and also by myself at times, playing the piano, chatting with friends via phone or chat, the occassional nonsensical random act of sheer psychoticness, snowboarding, computer/techie-like stuff (even though I suck at it for the most part), video-gaming, watching Japanese anime, working out, running, swimming, jetskiing, sailing, napping, chilling with my bro-bros, and other stuff that just doesn't come to mind......or maybe this is all of it.... O.o

I'd like to meet:

(In no particular order) Bono, Nobuo Uematsu, Mel Gibson, John Nash, Will Ferrell, P.O.D., John Eldredge, Vic Mignogna, a World War II veteran, and I'm sure there's a host more that I just cannot think of right now.

Music:

Music is something that I believe often transcends what we're capable of fully understanding here on Earth. It is very much a language, and one that has its own expressiveness and harmony, one that sometimes boldly declares the beauty and intelligence of God, and sometimes softly and faintly whispers of not quite unfamiliar, Greater Things. Whether I am listening to it or playing it, music is quite foundational in my life. I'm not going to go into particular styles, as there are many, and the exact definition of some of them is kind of in constant debate, but here are some bands/artists/composers, not order specific: U2, Project 86, P.O.D., Switchfoot, Sarah McLachlan, The Rocket Summer, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster Yoko Kanno, Yasunori Mitsuda, Nobuo Uematsu, Maaya Sakamoto, Utada Hikaru, Origa, Frou Frou, Ilaria Graziano, Gabriela Robin, Mai Yamane, Jars of Clay, DC Talk, Dead Poetic, Linkin Park, Sixpence None the Richer, Vienna Teng, Pillar, Relient K, Kutless, Blindside, Slick Shoes, Dead Poetic, Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, Watermark, Switchfoot, Underoath, Nickelback, Lifehouse, GRITS, 4th Avenue Jones, Cross Movement, Avirl Lavigne, the Black Mages, SR-71, some Coldplay here and there, some System of a Down stuff, Queen, Chevelle, Bethany Dillon, Palestrina, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Arnold Morrison (arranger, does alot of piano pieces), Travis Cottrell, Nicole Nordeman, Michael W. Smith, Third Day, Five Iron Frenzy, Demon Hunter, Good Charlotte, Aerosmith, Hangnail, Beanbag, Flyleaf Jeremy Camp, Jennifer Knapp, John Reuben (what is he dippity doin'?), Maire Brenna, Enya, Joanne Hogg, Carol King, MxPx, Anberlin, 12 Stones, 10 Years, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Evanescence/Amy Lee, Goo Goo Dolls, Enigma, Further Seems Forever, Ray Charles, John Williams, Tom Newman, Howard Shore, James Horner, James Newton Howard, Harry Gregson-Williams, and many more fine folk in the wonderful world of music

Movies:

Anyone that knows me even semi-well will know this is prolly one of the hardest sections. I guess I'll name off stuff that really means alot to and also stuff I've seen recently that I've really enjoyed: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Star Wars, Braveheart, Munich, a good amount of war films (those released during my lifetime for the most part), Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Crash, Kicking and Screaming, King Kong, Stranger Than Fiction, Babel, The Prestige, The Passion of the Christ, all of M. Night Shymalan's stuff, Samurai X: Trust, Betrayal, and Reflections, stuff by Akira Kurosawa (though I've only seen Seven Samurai O.o), The Last Samurai, Memoirs of a Geisha, superhero movies (ok mainly Spidey and X-men), Pixar films, Pirates of the Caribbean, Will Ferrell movies, SNL stuff (except for the uber-gross stuff), Disney movies, Miyazaki films, and......there's mountains more, but this is at least some idea of what I like

Television:

Dude seriously, let's face it......tv sucks for the most part these days....it's either reality shows, raunch, or what I like to call "the world of the WB"....you know what kind of shows I'm talking about.....still there are those diamonds in the rough: The Simpsons, That 70s Show, The Office, Battlestar Galactica, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, stuff on G4 Tech TV, Scrubs, Futurama, and other stuff as well, but I can't think of it or it's not shown anymore.

Books:

Personal: God's Word, The Lord of the Rings, Wild at Heart, Bono: In Conversation, the Chronicles of NarniaOther: The Shannara books, Memoirs of a Geisha, the Knight of the Word books, the Myst trilogy, other John Eldredge titles, C.S. Lewis' works, It All Goes Downhill From Here, mangas by Ken Akamatsu (hee hee.... ah Love Hina), Frank Peretti novels, Stephen Lawhead novels, Sarah Douglass novels (ok well the Wayfarer Redemption trilogy so far), the Giver, others, misc., etc., and so on, and so on...

Heroes:

Christ, my parents, my sister, Martin Luther King, Jr., Bono, missionaries, all who have or currently are serving our country (guess that sounds kind cliche, but they deserve it and so much more), and all of the people that continue to put up with me, the good and the bad, and still care for me and love me :-)
