I’m a Christian… but wait a second, what does that really mean? There are so many different ideas, thoughts, stereotypes, and zealotss out there that you almost cant even use the word Christian these days. Let me put it this way. I love the Jesus you can read about in the Bible. He called out the people who thought they had it all together and claimed a sort of self-righteousness, the religious leaders of the day. He loved the poor, the outcasts, the immoral, sinners, everyone who was different. I attempt to live my life in the same fashion. I say attempt because I know there are times where I fail miserably, I judge others because they’re different, I think of myself first and fail to see other people as Jesus did… loved by their creator and worthy of redemption. It’s not an easy life. It’s a struggle, but I haven’t found any other belief system or thought process that is worth it. It’s the only thing that makes perfect sense to me. It answers every question I have ever been able to ask myself. Ultimately I am responsible for how I live this thing we all call life and if anyone is going to question reality as we know it, it should be the Christian community... afterall, we claim to know ULTIMATE TRUTH. So I’ve come to realize that putting up a defense for what I believe doesn’t solve very much, though I find myself defending my belief system from time to time, which isn’t bad in its self but it’s the motives with which I do it. So I’m learning to say less and act more.
