About Me


Reliance (R.I.P.) came into being when the Santa Cruz punk band Illiterit invited a new vocalist to join the band. With a fervent desire to fill the void in Santa Cruz with something missing in punk rock, Reliance was born. Reliance was fast, melodic and LOUD! Known for its melodic vocals mixed with hardcore screaming making it a very unique act at the time..
A number of Reliance releases saw the light of day. A split 7" with Good Riddance and a Reliance 4 song self titled 7". Also Reliance tunes were on a number of compilations. Near the end of Reliance's life a "Lost" LP was recorded consisting of 10 songs. Here are 4 of those "lost" songs...
