My name is Nicole. I am what you might classify me as a video game/anime nerd. Yes, boring. Important: I hate people in general. I am friendly, yet fake. I will judge you. Then, I will hate you. I love revenge and I love putting karma into my own hands. Horrible people should be punished, but I guess that makes me a horrible person also. I am sure it will come and bite me in the ass one day. There is a difference from being in love and being in love with love. Confusing? Yes. Being in love is something unexplainable and unimaginable. Being in love with love is like hoping that your love story will come out like some lovey dovey movie scene. The idea of love created by the media and such is so overrated and unrealistic.
I remember when I was younger, I watched Disney movies all the time. I thought of how my first love would end up in the future. But looking back on it all, it was illogical to think that way because there is no way I would be caught dancing and singing 'Colors of the Wind' with all my little animal friends in order to meet my John Smith. If you find yourself thinking this way, this is not love. You are in love with the idea of love, but not love itself. This is just a fantasy.
This is something I thought about after reading Kundera's Immortality. Love created in movies does not reflect real life and almost always only reveals romance. What happens after the happily ever after ending? Say Cinderella got sick of her prince and ran away and died after jumping off a cliff... You never know. Now, I'm only picking on Disney movies in particular because this idea of love was placed on us when we were really young through these movies. However, there is nothing wrong with having these ideas while being young. It becomes a problem when you cannot grow out of it and realize that it is unrealistic. Disney movies are great for children because it teaches them some valuable moral values. So parents, please buy more Disney movies.
After getting my thoughts together, I came to the conclusion that the percentage of divorces and cheating increases because people are so damn infatuated on the idea of love and romance that when it fades, they want to find someone else to start the cycle all over again. Makes sense? I hope so.
Remember this: there's a difference between love itself and being in love with the idea of love. Also aside from that, there is a difference between being in love and falling in love. Sure, falling in love feels like euphoria, but what happens when it fades? Will you still be there for them despite the lack of romance that you experienced as you fell in love? Some people because addicted to falling in love rather than being in love. If you are those people who are addicted to the euphoria of falling in love, I suggest not settling down in a serious relationship. Why? Because you'll end up hurting the other person once the euphoria fades. Is my reasoning logical? Does it make you think? I hope so.
Eh, I am sick of writing. Read what I have on the blog (probably the more older ones). All my poems have been posted along with some random stuff. Unfortunately, you will never see any of my paintings or sculptures.
