chuck.foster burst into the Los Angeles Noise/Experimental scene in 1997 with the release of deng's "Spasmodic Goat", an hour long tape on his own label, MPAE. Shortly afterward, he released the first Goatfish tape, "The End of a Fortnight". Both tapes got rave reviews in Flipside magazine.
foster then turned his noise-making attention toward his Improv Concept band, Pope Goat VII . This consumed a few years.
In 2000, he joined Eckankore . The duo played a few shows with Emerson Balla doing visual projections.
In 2001, he relocated to Long Island, NY. He began doing noise recordings again, but ownership of a lousy CD burner prevented him from actually releasing anything.
At the end of 2005, Ron K [Eckankore] visited chuck in NY, and the noise-making fire was rekindled. Goatfish became Ghöatefische after a Google search of the conventional spelling. chuck also revived MPAE as a DIY CD-R label.
Ghöatefische is going full blast with 3 CDs completed as of January 2006. The only thing left to do now is perform.
