Music is my passion, as I was raised in a musical family with lots of opportunities to learn and perform. I have lived in the Chicagoland area for most of my life. I now reside in North Aurora, IL, where I own and run a music school called Excel Music. Excel Music was founded in 1998 when I decided to take my teaching to a higher level. Excel offers music lessons for piano, drums, guitar, bass and the woodwind and brass instruments. I have a teaching staff of 8 musicians who are all dedicated to their craft. During the day I teach in West Aurora school district 129 as well as at St. Charles North High School in district 303, helping young drummers with the basics of music and drumming. Teaching and playing is my life. After dark you'll find me in the studio recording, playing gigs with various groups or even a new band I recently joined called, "Pain Killer Hotel". On Sunday mornings I paly in a Gospel church. I have a wide ranging appreciation for music styles as I am always learning new things on my life long journey as a player and teacher. I have recorded records with the Voodoo Kings, Reggie Bannister, Changes, Joe Worrell, Fishy Motion, So Said I, and Tuesdays Child as well as some commercial work. Outside of my professional life I enjoy the outdoors. Fishing, camping and hiking are among my favorites. I dig working in my yard on a nice day and hanging out with good friends and family to chat and party. Life is good! I'm living my dream
