Grab yourself a heaping helping of Vintage Garage-Rock, pile on some American Blues, add a dash of '60's style British Rock & Roll, and garnish with a pinch of the Deep South's finest Rockabilly flavor. Mix it all up in a Memphis Soul Kitchen, and simmer 'til midnight on a sultry summer evening. That should give you an idea of '65 FASTBACK's unique sound.
The band is made up of Rod Smith on bass and lead vocals, Wayne Salamon on guitar and vocals, and, well no one behind the drum kit right now.
In addition to being the bassist for the legendary VooDoo Love Gods, Rod has laid down the bass for Frederick, MD alt/country rockers Porter Hall, and Baltimore bluesman Dean Lisi, as well as a stint touring as the low-end for the World Famous 69 Band.
Heavily influenced by British blues and American rock-a-billy, Wayne's flawless vintage tone, unlimited musical knowledge, and versatile guitar chops are the signature of the '65 Fastback sound.
'65 Fastback... genuine rock-n-roll... genuine good times.
