The art of Henrik Sundqvist

About Me

My art can be characterized as a combination of drawing and printmaking with elements of painting in my larger works on canvas — fusing elements of both classical drawing and popular art together. My drawings serve as studies and are used as an early stage for my etchings, black & white and color silkscreen work. Both drawings, engravings and silkscreen prints feature traditional subjects, such as portraits and still-lives, and societal and political issues.

My Interests

Printmaking, Painting, Drawing

On a side note, I love reggae and dub music, especially the early 70's period. Check out Jammyland when you visit NYC. The finest vinyl store on earth for reggae, dub, ska, rocksteady and much more. Talk to Malcolm for advice. He is the reggae bible.

I am a passionate mountain biker and soccer player, too. If I am not out on my bike or kicking around the ball, you will most likely find me in my studio dubbing away and drawing.
