Hey, give a drummer some slack!

About Me

Me? = Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, powerpop rockah - you know, Melody! Harmony! Jangle! Crunch! Dynamics! - gotta have em'all. High school drum major with lotsa 60's-80's classic rock and new wave beginnings...college lad for my dad...right into pharmaceutical research & development...came back from Hartford to Beantown to start Spectrum Sounds studio in Everett while playing drums in Barking Brains...then Cactus Gallery...then Philadelphia-bound for job from '93-'98...jammed with former Hooters bassist Andy King while there...back to Bawstin with a short stint as Eileen Rose's drummer, then for another round of real RAWK with Cheater Pint ! Playing all instruments and shouting all vox on 3 ROUGH cuts I composed that are posted here on this site. (Done with my friend Neil Meehan in his home ProTools studio; Drums sound programmed because they are - I used Re-Call). 4th song 'I Quit You' is a Cheater Pint ditty on which I hit the real skins, and that was mixed by Paul Q. Kolderie (Pixies, Radiohead) and produced by Ed Valauskas (Gentlemen, Juliana Hatfield) for your ears. Check out the final mix of my REAL drumming on the Cheater Pint myspace page (one of my friends). Interested in jamming?Cheater Pint CD "Dark Side of the Pint" released in Sept 2007! Keep checking for Cheater Pint and Solo gigs ...

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: cheaterpint.com
Band Members: Think about the one-player wonders...that's what I'm striving for!
Influences: Whew...melodies, riffs, harmonies, flam-a-cues, soul, swing, bottom, jangle, crunch, perfect production, sweeeet solos on any instrument, an understanding of how to build to the '1' beat, syncopation, alliteration, odd measures thrown-in to accommodate a line, and even sometimes lyrics
Sounds Like: You tell me! Short and sweet...But, I guess my songs tend to be molded like the Cars, Elvis Costello, Marshall Crenshaw, John Hiatt - y'know, drive away with a melody, or a riff, or both from the same song. Someone recently said Tom Petty (?) and I've heard "rootsy" like Buffalo Springfield (?) ...Recent playlist includes FOW, Wilco, Lanois, Ryan Adams, Ray Davies, David Gray, Freedy Johnson. Loss of friend inpires...
Record Label: Cheater Pint - Kinger label; DDW - Looking...
