My Story

So I've been wondering how to write this bio. I've seen a lot of them and think it is funny that most of them of are written in the 3rd person! I also began to wonder who writes all of these bios for all of these musicians? Then wondered if I had any actual friends who would take the time to interview/write for me,(so I too could have that same kind of cool "music magazine vibe"). But then I decided that I'd actually feel kind of silly asking my friend's to write a bio about me (even the one's who are professional music writers). I figure I'll save that favor for the cd jacket, or a newspaper article or perhaps even better...my obituary!
ANYWAY I figure I'll just be "honest" and do it myself like most everything else (I'm not controlling, I'm just kind of shy in the ways of self-promotion) SO HERE GOES!!

I am a full-time- face making..feedback loving..jump up and down..fall on the ground.. lead /rhythm guitarist (windmills included)...who belts his heart out in a loud (but sometimes sensitive)passionate singing voice.
listen to: SHE DREAMS ABOUT FLOWERS!
I write songs about stuff I can't always explain in rock,pop,and/or folk styles that don't always match a specific genre. Sometimes I also sing/play/bash/thrash as a solo acoustic guy too (covers, originals whatever). I also do gigs as a fill in guitarist for other bands too...
I have toured much of the country and most of the world (without a record deal)..Since September 2004 I have done over 9 tours (and counting) of Japan, and have performed either solo or with a band in Toko,Karuizawa,Nagano, and most recently Yamagata. I love Japan, and they seem to like me too! I hope to always be able to visit and perform there!
I have recorded a bunch of songs mainly in my home studio, and more recently in practices spaces, and karaoke boxes
in Roppongi, and Shinjuku.I can also sing in Japanese!
Listen to: ONLY FOR YOU!
There are also plans in place for a Japanese studio release (stay tuned!).
In the USA I mostly play with a band called The Ifs ( www.theifs.com ) as the character Reginald Vanif (windmills required).
I am also working with some fine musicians to collaborate/work on US material too.
I have gotten a lot of good reviews on the different stuff I've done with the bands I have done it with, or as a solo acoustic artist. I have even won some awards too.
The awards have been for Best Solo Acoustic Artist, Best Original Male Vocalist, Best Original Guitarist, and Best Rock Guitarist.
I got to jam a set with Eddie Van Halen, sat on Exene Cervenca's(X) lap, and have opened for, hung out with, tech'd for, (or have gotten very drunk with) Danny Gatton(R.I.P), Ian Gillan (Deep Purple), Jeff Martin (The Tea Party), The Romantics, The Lowest of The Low, Dave Wakeling (English Beat/General Public), Wide Mouth Mason, Hugh Dillon (Headstones),Robby Takac (GooGoo Dolls).
I even shook Bono's hand once. I also have a cool picture of me with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley (huge closet KISS fan!). Greg Lake borrowed my acoustic guitar once, but I never got to meet him though, and unfortunately didn't save the strings, but he borrowed my guitar just the same!
So there you have it my BIO..Written completey in the first person and written in a humble, honest, introspective, subtly shameless self promoting way (typos included)!
Most importantly please LISTEN TO THE MUSIC!!! and if you feel so inclined, please feel free to drop me a line or three, and let me know what you think! (it'll mean a lot!).
Peace Love and Cheers!
