DJ Jace got his start in the summer of 2004 at Sprial Video Dance Bar in Old Town Lansing, Michigan. DJ Reverend JC., Spirals resident, took Jace on as his protégé, teaching him the science of spinning music, and explaining how using that knowledge to affect a crowd can be an art as well. This was the beginning of Jace's artistic talent. After three months of guidance, Jace began to spin weekly at Spiral on Sundays to gain experience spinning in a club environment, and for a crowd. DJ Jace began to gather a following.Jace soon found part-time residencies at two East Lansing campus hotspots: Harpers and Club 131 (also known as Harpers Downtown). Jace shared the residencies with East Lansing DJ Killa Kam. Although shared, these residencies gave Jace the opportunity to further hone his skill at mixing electronica, but also learn mixing skills for hip-hop.With his new found talent at mixing not only electronica and hip-hop, but mixing between the two, Jace was sought out to spin Thursday nights at Lansing's Club Xcel with DJ Reverend J.C. Jace would remain there for four months. His name and talent began to be known outside of the Lansing area. In November 2005, Jace became the Sunday Night resident at Club Divine in Ypsilanti, Michigan. In December 2005, Jace earned the Friday night residency at Necto Nightclub in Ann Arbor, MI. DJ Jace is only the 3rd resident in the nights 20 plus year history! Jace quickly became a crowd favorite at Necto; successfully spinning Electro House on Fridays. In August of 2006, Jace took on yet another residency. This residency would expose him to a different crowd than anything before. Jace was offered a residency at Be Bar, which is in the Nation's Capital. Jace would be flown to Washington, DC every weekend to spin there, for 8 months. With Jace’s name becoming more and more well known, he was asked to spin various clubs around the country. Spinning at Be Bar every Saturday prevented this, so Jace decided to give his residency up. Shortly after doing so, Jace was offered gigs in Chicago, New York, Boston, and Ohio—and he continues to be booked around the country. For booking information, email jace at jacedj.com
