David "FD" Nguyen is one of those rare Hip Hop entrepreneurs that come once in a blue moon. His mentality and overall demeanor is reminiscent of past young entrepreneurs who have gone on to take over the Hip Hop industry. Diddy once told him "if you keep chasing your dreams, the sky's the limit". Kanye West once told him, "dog, keep doing your thing". FD has continued to tell those around him, "there's only one way to the top man, jump on my back and I'll lead the way."
FD started his career at the young age of 16 when he started AZNRaps.com, which has become the largest web site catered towards the urban Asian American market. After finding success there, he continued his career in music interning at Interscope Records under publicist Greg Miller in the same office where they handled the likes of Eminem, 50 Cent, and Gwen Stefani. Learning the publicity side through Greg, one of the best in the business, FD packed his bags with all of his knowledge and took to the fast lane in the music industry. At the age of 22, he took on two degrees at UCLA while leaving the second one behind. "I felt that having one was enough, so I skidaddled and took on music". This proved to be a major career choice that would eventually work out for FD.
FD took on music production, which he was involved in since the age of 9 upon first hearing Dr. Dre's "The Chronic", more seriously. This lead him to be labeled as one of the "best young producers I've heard in a minute" (Benzino). He has since built relationships with some of the largest record labels in the industry including T.I.'s Grand Hustle, and The Game's "Black Wallstreet".
FD has never been one to sit back and ask for anything to be given to him. He has become accustomed to seeing what he wants, taking a sip of his coffee, taking a deep breath, and then reaching out with all he had at whatever he wanted. "If it's not gonna land in my hands magically, I'm gonna step up my game and take it. I'm not waiting on nobody".
