I'm a classically-trained French horn player in Las Vegas, and have worked here (and all over the world) for everyone from Metallica to Pavarotti...and several others in between!I have worked in several different fields in my life in Las Vegas over the past two decades, including a stint as Director of Public Relations for the Musicians Union of Las Vegas, and 10 years (between music gigs) as a back-office person for an opthalmic surgeon. (I have some sort of strange retention level for medical terms and the identification of prescription drugs as a result of that career move). By another strange twist of fate, I made a 10-year detour into the world of terrestrial radio....working as a morning show DJ at the same station for 9 of those years. It was fun (MOST of the time!) and I wouldn't trade those days for anything. But I'm happy to be back in the music scene, just finished working in the orchestra for "Monty Python's Spamalot" at Wynn Las Vegas, playing associate principal French horn with the Las Vegas Philharmonic, teachiing horn at UNLV, and freelancing wherever and whenever I can find the time and the venue! I have a side-business as a voice actor, and (yes, this is a totally shameless plug) here's where you can hear my demo:
My new Studio Center voice demo is up. Doesn't load up quickly, but here it is . . . http://studiocenter.com/voice-over-talent/Beth-Lano.aspx
