Dan Ramsden here, I’m an electrical designer/draftsman by day and a self taught bass player by night (started playing the bass in November of 1993).
I've been fortunate enough, to have/had the opportunity to play in several great bands with some really talented musicians. I've played at some of Pittsburgh's top night clubs and some very nice outdoor venues as well (Starlake amphitheater side stage and the Carnegie blues festival).
As most musicians know it's a very tough business to be in and at times even seems to be unfair. But we just keep plugging away and who knows? one day you might be playing in a club, and if the right person is there (and likes you), you might be touring and making records instead (might have a better chance at hitting the lottery).
Right now I'm just a weekend warrior playing in smoke filled bars for free drinks and extra spending cash. I also used to play the drums in my younger days, which really helps me now, to lock in a tight groove with the drummer, and to set the foundation for the rest of the band to build from.
I'm currently jamming with some talented musicians that I go way back with and whom by the way, are very cool to hang around with. I also enjoy riding my motorcycle and participating in sporting and outdoor activity's.
Prior bands that I've been in are as follows (in order):
Off the Wall, Underground People, Tuff Luck (Pgh. based), Cousin Groover, Mean Business, Michael Todd & the Believers, Guilty as Sin, Rude Mood, Stay Tuned, Tampered/Perfect Strangers, and Sonic Vender.
