I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I was born in Southern Taiwan on December 21st, 1976. I came to the U.S. when I was 11 years old, and lived in Northern California until I was 17. I went to undergraduate at UCLA. I just graduated from Pennsylvania College of Optometry last year.I'm currently working as a fill-in optometrist (aka. eye doc), so 60% of my life revolves around vision and ocular health. For those who think that optometry is all about glasses and contact lenses, we (the dedicated young optometrists) also manage ocular infections, diseases and manifestation of countless systemic diseases (i.e. multiple sclerosis, diabetes, coronary artery disease, pituitary tumor, giant cell arteritis...just to name a serious few). Glasses and contact lenses may be our bread and butter but managing pathologies is our livelihood. So, next time you go see an eye doctor, you can now understand why we spend less than 3 minutes checking your spectacle prescription and the other 15 (5x longer) checking your overall health. PS. 6 out of 12 cranial nerves innervate the eyes and their accessory structures. The next time something happens inside your brain...say a tumor/aneurysm...do you think you'd have visual & ocular symptoms?...=)Life has never been better for me since I started working as an optometrist.. (knocking on wood) I also enjoy the simple things in life and appreciate what life has to offer. I believe in seizing a moment - I take action when needed so I don't let opportunities pass me by. I consider myself very fortunate, and I wouldn't trade places with anyone or have it any other ways. Anything else you want to know, just ask!
