Back in the summer of 2002 when four young men who were to become known as The Magic Bullet Theory started making music together they had no master plan, other than to make music straight from their hearts. Fueled by a love for each other and a basic need to express the sounds they were hearing in their heads they immediately started to work out a way to hit the right notes at the same time. This pure but naive way of approaching creativity resulted in a personal and distinct sound that never did quite fit and still doesnt fit into any of the common musical genre often used by people in the music world. So what drove the four together in the first place? Well, first and foremost a common love for the uncompromising sounds and ideas they had all heard in punk rock music while growing up. Right from the beginning the energy and heartfelt emotions in the music came from the do it yourself spirit of punk rock. At the same time theres no denying rock n roll, blues, soul and pop music has had a huge influence on the way The Magic Bullet Theory think, work and sound. So what happened along the way? Well I guess these four guys just fall in love too easily. All at the same time but with totally different things, which makes the music they make together, sound unique and like no other band around today. One band member may be digging deep into the wonderful world of old Motown classics while another member is going through one of his The Clashs; London Calling is the best record ever periods while a third member is obsessed with the brutal reality of Charles Bukowskis writing while listening a hell of a lot to old AC/DC records. After having spent yet another cold and endless winter writing and recording their sophomore effort " love (a.k.a sugar)" The Magic Bullet Theory are now ready for another round of trying to conquer the world. Armed with an album worth of new powerful songs The Magic Bullet Theory is eager to hit the road and do what they live to do; play music with heart and soul. The master plan in tmbt has always been the same, play whatever you feel like but play it like you mean it. This way of approaching music is also expressed in The Magic Bullet Theory´s live appearances, which always convey high energy and loads of heart. The tightness of the band both musically and personally, mixed with the honesty of punk rock shines through in a way that makes one of their concerts a special and moving experience.
