About Me

This layouts made by FreeMyspaceLayouts.org Hmmm, let's see. I'm 22. I have lived here my whole life, but no one seems to believe that. I work at a rockin' coffeeshop, and I really do love my job.

My Interests

I have sooo many interests. Right now I'm going through this training program to become a yoga teacher, and I love that. I've been doing yoga for as long as I can remember. I also love to dance. I've been bellydancing for a few years, and I must say I am quite proficient at that. We have some great drum circles down here. But I love all kinds of dancing, especially in open fields with live music and other spinners, dancers, and hoopers all around me. Which brings me to my next interest: hooping! Oh, how I love it! This is not your mother's kind of hula hoop. The hoops I (and others like me) use are much bigger, thicker, and heavier than those dinky Wham-O hula hoops. They are custom made, end up being very beautiful when decorated with colored tape, glitter tape, or glow in the dark tape. With the big hoops, you can do all kinds of neat tricks, and they're really fun to dance with.

I'd like to meet:

Cat Stevens would be my first pick. I love this man. He is the most beautiful person. Of course, he was at his peak in the 70's. He's a little old for me now. He writes the lovliest music, is intensely spiritual, and is my ideal man. God, I could just eat him up. I am insanely jealous of his wife who had the pleasure of having his 5 children. Ahh, I've been in love with him for years. Just hearing him sing and play guitar or piano gives me chills. I would also love to meet Mountain Girl (Carolyn Adams, Jerry Garcia's first wife). In my opinion, she had it all goin on for a while there. At age 18, she fell in with the Pranksters, she was fabulous enough to have Ken Kesey AND Jerry fall in love with her. That tells you something, because you have to be one cool chick to be able to handle two of the biggest personalities of the time. She got to ride around on the bus and hang with the coolest people of the century. So, that's why I want to meet Ms. MG

Music:

My ultimate favorite band is the Grateful Dead. Hands down. I wish I were older so I could've gone to see them when Jerry was alive. I like a lot of jambands now, but to be honest, none of them can hold a candle to the dead. Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter were two of the most brilliant songwriters ever. Many of the Weir/Barlow songs rock too, but we all know how strange Bobby can be. I also love bluegrass, and anything with a mandolin. My favorite bands are mostly classic rock ones, but I also really like Phish (but not necessarily Trey. He's an a-hole), and the String Cheese Incident rock. One of my favorite artists (also the love of my life) is Cat Stevens. The Beatles, too. Who doesn't like them? Lovely Rita is my favorite song by them, and the rest of the Sgt. Pepper album. I like any sort of 60's and 70's folk music. James Taylor is awesome! Of, course, Bob Dylan too. Carole King is awesome. I don't like Joan Baez. She is very pretty, though. Also Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Portishead, Poe, Misfits, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, Eekamouse (sp?), basically all the old school reggae, Erykah Badu, Outkast, the list goes on and on. All I don't really like is country and rap.

Movies:

My movie interests vary greatly. I've loved musicals for as long as I remember. I like seeing almost anything in theatre form, but that doesn't really count as a movie. One movie I could watch over and over again is Jesus Christ Superstar. Again, that goes back to the theatre thing, since it was a play before a movie, but we'll say it counts anyway. I also like movies about drugs. A really good movie is Rush. It's about junkies. For some reason those movies fascinate me. I really like watching those old movies about the "dangers of the devil reefer". I get a kick out of those.

Television:

I don't watch television, but I do like The History Channel, all those Health Channels, Animal Planet, and I'm a sucker for The Swan. I'm a dork, I know. Also the Simpsons (duh), Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Brak, all those Adult Swim shows.
