I'd like to meet:
My soulmate. . .Also, John Lennon (Ya, he's dead. I didn't say I was all in a HURRY about it!), Amy Lee of Evanescence (I totally wanna marry that chick! lol).
"Who's your daddy?"
Music:
Temple of the Dog, System of a Down, Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Tool, KoRn, My Chemical Romance, Audioslave, Evanescence, Sublime, Staind, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, STP, Smashing Pumpkins, Live, Dave Mathews Band, Matchbox20, Counting Crowes, Black Crowes, SRV, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, The Pretenders. . . Countless others, but you get the drift. . .
Movies:
Being John Malkovich, Brazil, Big Fish, What Dreams May Come, The Man Who Fell to Earth, Natural Born Killers, Eyes Wide Shut, A Clockwork Orange, Blue Velvet, Erasurehead, Taxi Driver, Scarface, Goodfellas, Training Day, Pulp Fiction, Rumble Fish, Colors, Platoon, The Matrix, Gladiator, Friday, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Edward Scissorhands, Time Bandits, Monty Python's the Meaning of Life, 50 First Dates. I like off-beat, not so run of the mill type movies. . . And I'm kind of a geek for super-hero movies, too!
Television:
Lost, Heroes, The Sopranos, Boston Legal, Two and a Half Men, 24, Survivor, South Park, The Simpsons, Cribs, Made, American Chopper, NFL, UFC, lots of Discovery, History, Science, and National Geographic, shit like that. . .
Books:
Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead!!! Poe, anything Anne Rice, Jean M. Aul's "Earth's Children" series, Dean Koontz. . .
Heroes:
Jesus Christ (a God among men, but also a true revolutionary and lightning rod for change. The original REBEL! Plus that whole, "He died for our sins" thing. That was mighty thoughtful!), John Lennon (ditto, but without the whole "God among men" part - "Imagine all the people. . ." How can ya NOT love the dude that wrote THAT?!), Martin Luther King, Jr. (again - ditto. "I have a dream. . ." is quite possibly the most beautiful, moving, and inspirational speech ever presented to the world; a true gem for mankind and a dream that we should all aspire to. . . If THAT speech doesn't make you feel like a part of the whole "human experience", then you quite possibly don't have a soul. . . You might wanna get that checked out!), Pat Tillman (had it ALL in the palm of his hand, and gave it all up to fight for the freedom of others, dying for his efforts. Wow.), Thomas Jefferson (you know - he came up with that whole "all men are created equal. . ." thing? Not a bad concept, huh?), Benjamin Franklin (along with Leonardo de Vinci, one of the most multi-faceted geniuses the world has ever known), Patrick Henry ("Give me liberty, or give me death!" HELL YA!!!), Sir William Wallace ("FREEDOM!!!"). These brave men all stood up in the face of injustice, oppression, and tyranny - at grave personal risk. Knowing full well at the time that their words and actions were to their own detriment, and could quite possibly (and WOULD most likely) result in ridicule, harrassment, imprisonment, torture, and/or even death. Sadly, that turned out to be the case for most of them. That's too bad. We could really use someone like that right now. . .
And so I ask myself - and you, "Where are such men today? When the world so desperately needs them. . .?"
I WILL STAND. Will you stand with me? (DAMNIT! Give a guy a couple beers, all of a sudden he's freakin' GHANDI or somethin'! lol)
