About Me

BIO
In less than three years, Seattle's Massy Ferguson has earned a name for itself locally and internationally, playing memorable shows in front of packed venues in their hometown, entertaining U.S. troops in Germany and rocking alongside members of Phish and the Grateful Dead in Jaco, Costa Rica.
This hard- working quartet has managed to book shows in Europe, tour Costa Rica and get airplay in Melbourne, Australia, as well as support from influential Seattle stations KEXP and KMTT 103.7 The Mountain — without the aid of a label.
In September of 2008 Massy Ferguson released their debut full-length album "Cold Equations," an 11-song LP which is starting to garner attention locally and overseas.
They've been described as, "unapologetic rock Americana for the masses," and it's clear the band's fresh take on traditional American roots music is striking a nerve. Tracing their influences to alt-country (Drive-By-Truckers, The Jayhawks) and American southern rock (The Black Crowes, Marshall Tucker Band), Massy Ferguson's blue-collar rock stays true to old musical pioneers while forging its own evolutionary path.
The journey started with a 5-song, self-released, self-titled EP in 2006. The next year, the band released Live in the Lounge, a live album featuring 8-songs from their 2006 Insomnia Radio acoustic session (which was podcast to an audience of nearly 80,000 subscribers.) Now they're roaring ahead with the release of Cold Equations, their first proper full-length album.
In Seattle, Massy Ferguson is also known as "The People's Band," "The Hardest Sweating Band in Showbiz" and of course, "Massy F***ing Ferguson." These monikers seem fitting for the band's no-frills approach to writing music and for their rowdy live performances. The four-piece embraces the reputation, the adulation, the screaming fans ... who wouldn't?
With early support from KEXP and packed local shows, Cold Equation looks to expand the band's base even further. This fall, they'll be playing Circus Mexicus Festival with Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers in Puerto Penasco, Mexico.
MF consists of Ethan Anderson, vocals/bass, Adam Monda, guitar/vocals, Tony Mann, keyboards and Dave Goedde, drums
