I have been singing and playing piano since the age of four. In 2004, I released my debut full-length cd titled "Ghosts in My Closet." I just released my second cd, a concept album about women titled "A Lullaby for Ellen West." Ellen West was a woman in a Kim Chernin book I read who had to be institutionalized because she refused to succumb to the limits placed on her as a woman in the early 1900's. The album is a tribute to her and all other women who have been marginalized in some way. It chronicles adversity in the lives of ordinary and extraordinary women from Mary Magdalene to Eva Cassidy to women I know and love.
Besides being a singer and songwriter, here are some other random facts about me...I am an identical twin; a published poet; very happy to see a black president in my lifetime- could a woman be next?
