I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm a small-animal veterinarian who wishes she'd had the guts to go for a career in comedy, singing, acting, etc. Or gone to human medical school and become a plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Or gotten married young and popped out 5 or 6 kids instead of just the one gorgeous boy. Or so many other things...
Not that I don't love being a vet most of the time. But I often need a few days off before I remember that.
If you read only one of my blog posts, please read this one.

"Nice doggy." What Will Your Famous Last Words Be?
Trying a new map (starting 1/26/07):
Update!! I retook the geek test, and I’ve been upgraded!
Now:
…which is geekier than a total geek, according to the website. I’m certainly geeky enough to want to debate the semantic distinctions between “total geek” and “major geek.”
Click on one of the buttons above to take the test for yourself.
BTW,..This profile was edited with Space codes - Editor and a helluva lot of manual tweaking by Julie.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who are smart, goofy, and fun, but not scary. I know, nobody thinks they are scary unless they are doing it on purpose, but those aren't the ones I'm worried about.

ADDENDUM: Hey, men, I'm here for friendships only. I'm really flattered, but please stop sending me notes telling me you're looking for that special lady, et cetera. I ain't her. Please check my profile and note that I am married (happily, thank you), with a young son, and these things mean something to me. The only guy I wouldn't mind flirting (innocently) with is already one of my MySpace friends. Yes, you guessed it, it's MySpace Tom--what a cutie!
Seriously, don't make me put up one of my ugly photos. I don't want to do it, and trust me, you don't want me to do it.

Julie's True Love Is a Gemini
{How do they know these things? My hubby and I are both Geminis! Not that I believe in horoscopes--but when they're right, they're right!}

Why you'll love a Gemini:

Witty and sharp, a Gemini can keep up with your fast (and ever changing) mind.
You're both fun loving and free spirits. You and a Gemini can enjoy each other without expectations.

Why a Gemini will love you:

Not only can you keep up with a Gemini's sharp tongue, you can introduce a challenge or two...
You're appetite for fun and novelty will keep a Gemini interested - at least for a bit longer than usual! What Sign Is Your True Love?

Julie's Hidden Talent
You are a great communicator. You have a real way with words. [Can anybody tell me how being a great communicator can be a hidden talent?]

You're never at a loss to explain what you mean or how you feel. [Of course, I'm not sure what to say about that...]

People find it easy to empathize with you, no matter what your situation. [Oh, yeah? Empathize with this!!]

When you're up, you make everyone happy. But when you're down, everyone suffers. [But they only suffer because they love me so much! Riiiiight.]

What's Your Hidden Talent?

My Blog

Today I am a Mac.

In the past, my choice of PC vs. Mac was always dictated by external circumstances. In high school and college in the mid 80s we always used the splendid Apples, but later on both my former and curren...

How Ive been squandering my time

I think I should get back to my irregularly scheduled blogging, but this is one thing I've been doing to avoid any kind of creative writing: Come visit my store on CafePress! If you don't know what t...

Blogging elsewhere, mostly.

I'm not here at MySpace much anymore.  I've strayed to Blogger and Facebook. In fact, I went to Blogger to post this photo, and didn't even share it with my MySpace friends. So here it is. ...

In three minutes?

That's easy. The challenge is to find a way that isn't shocking.

I am happy!

Most of my Sweet Readers were right there with me, but I'll write about it anyway. Some friends and I went to see Jake Johannsen's show at Acme Comedy Company on Friday. If you don't know who he is, ...

A-drinkin' and a-bloggin'

I've been meaning to post for ever-so-long, and for some reason I've had a bit to drink today, and it seems like I'm getting more done than while completely sober. Don't worry about me; I hardly drin...

It's what's for dinner. I'll take mine medium-rare. This came to my house! Here's the whole catalog cover: I actually pictured a big piece of fruit stuffed with roast beef. I'm naïve and unsullied eno...

Vanity and Hubris

This was from March, 2006.  I was just messing around with an old blog entry, and it ended up at the top of the list on my profile.  Would that happen if I added a few words to this one? Oh,...

Not the best year, so far...

January 2, 2007. Yup, I'm only two days into 2007, and the year isn't going all that well. It's all the fault of 2006--more specifically, of Julie.06. I slept on the couch last night, mostly because ...
