WHEW!! Back to norm--....well...

About Me

They pay me for this.
I work with a buncha clowns...
4 yrs of college. Really.

"Everything is exactly as it should be, and everything will be okay."

TERMINAL VERBOSITY...
I'm a quirky Aquarian with a quick laugh, an odd job, odd diet, 2 cats, a tendency toward run-on sentences and parenthetical asides, and an obsessive focus on the topics/projects of any given moment.

I am Someone Who Easily Creates a Happy & Abundant Life.

Most of all, I am a bundle of dichotomies: strident & compassionate, well-informed & out of the loop, professional and bohemian, totally goofy & tightly-wound, incredibly affectionate & protective of my space, smoothly elegant & comfortably casual, an adventurous homebody, a visionary mouse-potato, a lazy perfectionist, easily bored, yet married to small routines. I'm precision-oriented and detail-obsessed, but focused on the Big Picture. Shockingly sharp, overly-analytical, highly creative (and highly-strung on occasion), as well as totally fuzzy-brained & verklempt. I sleep in on days I work, and get up early on vacations. I'm a shy socializer and kind of a loner, but perfectly comfortable walking up to complete strangers and starting a conversation, or just making them laugh a lot. I have endless To Do lists mostly full of all the fun and fascinating things I want to read about, try, or do. I am constantly seeking inspiration, or playing out the potential of a current spark. I've been called "a piece of work" and "the most amazing woman alive", and I'd have to say that both are true--often simultaneously. Yes, I can be "a handful," but it's rarely intentional...

For the first time in my whole life, I'm learning to embrace my inner kook. But I still make all the usual efforts to look like a "normal" person...

favorite words/phrases/concepts:
"ambidextrous thumb stud"
"phenomenon(menonmenonmenon)"
"gracefully selective photographic memory"
"evangelical atheism"
"It's the verisimilitude I like..."
"alternative and luxuriously cute"
"Only the truth is funny."

Q: How did you do that?
WD: "...I dunno...it just never occurred to me that I couldn't."

m y job:
I'm an "interactive" performer, which means I play with strangers all day long. My background is in theatre (legit stage acting, comedic/dramatic/classical)--but I work as a specialty artist (female stiltwalker) in a casino show right now. I have the most incredible gig...!! I walk on stilts (and skip and dance, too), blowing bubbles half the time, and spend the rest of the time riding Pegasus. WHAT LITTLE GIRL DIDN'T WANT TO RIDE A FLYING HORSE?!

favorite things:
Sushi, Tivo, Antenna Balls. Discussing nearly any "-ology". Potential. Post-It Notes, text msgs, lips-more-than-tongue kisses, strong connections. Hoops and Yoyo. Performing. Bikram Yoga and walking meditation. Inspiration, information, stimulation. Polar bears. Gadgets, manners, witty banter. Color swatch palettes of any kind. A full To Do list. An empty To Do list.

Speaking of inspiration, this is fun:
43things.com

It's embarassing how happy these silly little balls make me...

for fun:
Alone, I generally surf the internet, studying any one of several interests, or work on various artsy projects for myself, my work, or as presents for friends. With others, I love to go out (pubs over clubs) for dinner, drinks, and lively conversation. A small dinner party with games and dear friends is just my favorite thing.

Q: What's the one thing you always get when you go to Wal-Mart?
WD: "A splitting headache and a dismal sense of humanity..."

my "religion":
Many who know me would think that Astrology is my faith--but that's not how it works. (See "My Apologia for Astrologia" in my blog.) Yes, I really "believe in it", and that's after years of in-depth studying with the original intention to DISprove it. NO, that DOESN'T mean I think people are "ruled" by the planets. I know you don't get it...just ask me.
In general, I'm currently exploring a metaphysical approach to spirituality, and have taken courses in one particular "technology". I love to explore different ideas and see which feel right at any given time. It's taken me into some interesting areas of philosophy and even quantum physics recently, and that just blows my mind. This is currently among my favorite topics of discussion...if you want to talk for hours, just push this button and sit back for the ride. Seat belts optional.

"In the intuitive arts, one walks a fine line between self-delusion and inspiration..."

favorite hot spots:
Generally, I like a location that's comfortable & functional for talk & drinks. A restaurant with a patio...lovely! Beach or mountains on a cool spring day. San Diego? Yes, please. Disney? SOLD!

My Interests

Philosophy, Politics, Psychology, Astrology, Metaphysics (and a little Quantum Physics?), Theology, Interpersonal Dynamics, Creative Design on virtually any level, Theatre/Acting. Finding creative / workable / efficient solutions to any random-but-inspiring challenge.

And now--thanks to a friend, the first video ever displayed on my page. I love this!! What IS it about Christopher Walken??

You know, I think I relate to this video another way, too. I always get the urge to run, skip, dance, and fly whenever I see long clear hallways, or large expanses of open space...I don't think I've ever told anybody that. But I have been known to spontaneously do a run of cartwheels across an empty convention ballroom... ;)

Thank yew, thank yew verry mush...

I'd like to meet:

Interesting, intelligent, creative, fun, and/or inspiring people who could also be open to embracing my inner (and outer) kook.

For FRIEND friends, I'm TOTALLY open. I generally gravitate toward Gemini, Sag, Aquarius, Cancer and Taurus-types (male or female)--but you could have a different sun sign and still have strong influences of these in your chart, so if you're NOT one of these, please don't think I'm not interested in saying hi.

***** Full birth data will be expected. *****

For those friends of the dating persuasion (and good luck nailing me down for a date, though I claim to want them), I'm seeking individual(s) who are positive, intelligent & witty, creative, fidelity-minded, forthright, affectionate, focused, action-oriented, passionate, emotionally-available, responsible, verbal, social, confident, charismatic-but-kind, spiritually-inclined, open to discussing feelings / thoughts / dreams / current events (but NOT reality TV) / metaphysics / philosophy / politics and virtually everything else. You like quiet times as much as you do thrills (but usually fall somewhere in-between) and possess generosity, integrity, compassion, a lucrative and stable yet somewhat flexible career, and a penchant for occasional downright-silliness. I'm looking for the adult whose inner child is winking from *just* below the surface, as opposed the Kid in Grown-Ups' Clothes. You don't necessarily have to read, but I'd love it if you THINK, FEEL, and DISCUSS both thoughts and feelings...

A taller Jon Stewart / Matthew Perry / Bradley Whitford type (with some Joseph Feinnes thrown in for good measure), possessing his own, or being open to my serious metaphysical leanings, who doesn't mind my ONLY-occasional and only-outdoors-except-when-we-go-to-a-bar smoking .

Oh YEAH.
{{{shiver}}}

Ultimately (but not necessarily immediately) seeking the perfect blend of security and freedom, and the ideal combination of steady companionship and transcendent passion, with a healthy degree of independence for both. Or just a fun date. Y'know--whatever. *shrug*

Music:

LOVE the Barenaked Ladies-especially for road trips. Hm. Music, music. Um...Hm. I love light swing/jazz for dinner parties. Big Bad VooDoo Daddy, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Richard Cheese is the coolest cat ever. Queen. Fat Boy Slim. I was enjoying the mid-to-late 90's alterna-pop, but heard one too many local car dealer commercials, turned off the radio, and didn't turn it on again until like a month ago. I usually listen to books in the car, make phone calls (yes, I use a headset), or just drive in silence and *think*. Believe it or not, I don't really listen to music at home much...it just doesn't occur to me. I KNOW it's weird....I can't help it.

Movies:

I always totally forget what my favorite movies are when I'm asked this question. Nope, completely blank. OH WAIT--Harry Potters, Shakespeare in Love, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, ANYTHING by Pixar...and about a gazillion others I'm completely forgetting...

Television:

(I "Tivo" things then go back and watch every few months. MAYBE. It's pretty rare, though I've been making an effort to do it more lately, so as to spend quality time with my animals.) Heroes is totally fun... I LOVE My Name is Earl and The Office. Both are so incredibly clever and over the top, but so REAL. The Daily Show if I'm on a political bender. I was also enjoying Studio 60, but it's sorta vanished. *sigh* I just love Aaron Sorkin's writing. I swear I'd watch anything he produced...

Books:

Today: CNN.com, My horoscope and my day planner. This week: Various Astrology and Tarot books. This month: Oneness, Personal Power Through Awareness, and Living Deliberately. My Amazon Wish List is MILES long, but I don't sit down to read much more often than I watch TV (which is like, never--see above). Can't I just download directly to my brain yet? I think I used up all my Reading balloons when I was a kid. Always had my nose in a book. Favorites: Harry Potter series, of course. Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. And Sextrology, Planets in Synastry, Astrologically Incorrect, etc.

Heroes:

I need a hero... Wait--got'em. My mom & Randy, Drew & Angela, Jason, the POD, Ty, Aunt Michele, my Grandmother, Brian Dixon, Bill Johnson, Terry & Gie, Tim & Heather, Deanna , Mike C, Toby--and several more, I'm sure. I guess it's no coincidence that they're all people I know... I'd also have to name Walt Disney, because his entire existence was about creation and imagination (and marketing!) and his vision was limitless. I'd like to think I could relate to that.Oh, and if I ever meet Stephen Colbert , I'll fling myself at his feet in abject worship...

AND BY THE WAY... Did you know that according to the US Attorney General, the Constitution does NOT provide for Habeus Corpus? Watch this:

Wow...
Well, I guess we have Bill Clinton to thank. Jeez.
