About Me

~*~Derek Metcalf ~ June 22, 1978 - June 3, 2007 As most of you know, I lost my Brother In Law June 3, 2007 in an accident. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who wrote kind words, gave a donoation to the childrens fund or helped out in any way they could. We are all truly blessed to have such a great group of family and friends.~*~Dusty and I have been together for three wonderful years. We'll eventually get married once I finish school in about three or four years. We've learned that there's no need to rush true love b/c we'll have the whole married w/kids in a big house once we're both ready for it. And right now, we're not ready for the whole package. We're having too much fun without the extras. We are apart of an off road group called Po' Boy. I'd have to say we have some pretty crazy and strange members that we both call family. They're the type of guys that get along with everyone and everyone likes them instantly...well almost.~*~My friends and my family are extremely important to me. They've helped me through many rough patches in my life and I couldn't live without them. A lot of those rough patches should have never happened, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger! You really do learn who your true friends are when you need them the most...they'll always be there and they will never judge you.~*~I've had the same job for the past six years now, and everyone on my friends list knows what I do, lol. I started out as a secretary and now I'm the Site Coordinator (Aka. Manager).~*~I still have quite a few years of school left due to working 40 hours a week, but atleast I'm still going and I haven't quit. I haven't quite decided what I want to do after I graduate. I've thought about several different careers but nothing is set in stone yet. I still have plenty of time to figure that out.~*~

Music:

Roger Creager baby! My all time favorite music is Texas Country. I've been listening to it since it pretty much got up and running a few years ago, like back when I was in High School. Although, Pat Green IS a sell out for going Mainstream! LOL, if you listen like I do, you'd understand. I do listen to other stuff other than Texas Country Music. Pretty much anything that has a good beat to it.

Movies:

I'm not too picky about movies. I'll watch them all at least once...maybe a few times after that if they're REALLY good. One that I will watch over and over and over is Gone with the Wind.:) LOVE that movie.

Television:

Recently I've been watching a little too much Discovery Health, lol. Ever since I switched my major, I've been hooked on that damn channel. Other than that...Family Guy (Thanks to my bf), King of the Hill, Futurama, Dirty Jobs, Desperate Housewives, Greys Anatomy & the Food Network. I'm SO in my element when I'm cooking!:)

Books:

I like suspense/mystery books. Anything by Patricia Cornwell, Ann Rice, Iris Johansen, Dan Brown, ect. I also fell in love with the Harry Potter series thanks to my bestfriend Diana:)
