Memorial Day Poem:

The American Hero
by Roger Robicheau

The American Hero always comes through To capture our hearts with a spirit so trueSome proudly are soldiers who march in harm’s way Insuring our freedom, courageous they stayWhile others come forth as civilians so brave Determined in purpose, so steadfast to saveWe should always keep clear a place in our heart For each has a value beyond precious artTheir duty to country will not be surpassed Please honor their courage, for some it’s their lastWe live in a world which can be hard to bear Thank God for these people, how greatly they careDo ponder new heroes and what they will face And pray for their safety no matter their placeOur heritage brings out the best, we all know Our great book of heroes is destined to grow

Memorium Poem

In Memory:
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

[A]beautiful creature
From Spencer's Site
We want to always remember The beautiful life you lived And keep alive the memories we have Through remembering what you didFor you’re so special to all of us A wonderful person indeed Your love, laughter and warm smile Reflected a heart that believedJust in the everyday things we do We remember your faith and love In the words you spoke to help us through Is a continued reminder for us Although we miss you so very much We know we’ll see you once more For this is the hope we have in God Being re-united in the Lord And as we gather we’ll continue to share Special times we went through For these are memories that warm our hearts As we honour the memory of you

a sleepless melody
