Known as an International Musician, Heartthrob, Actor, Reality Star and Environmental Activist, Nick Carter, just returned from a worldwide tour with his Backstreet Boy brothers for their 2007 album, Unbreakable. The tour sold out all over the world and inspired the band-mates to begin yet another album which will be their seventh. Simultaneously while writing and recording with BSB, Nick is working on developing his solo album busily collaborating with top writers and producers.After completing a cathartic 2006 reality show, House of Carters on E!, where he reunited with his siblings under one roof for the first time since they were very small children, Nick Carter is feeling more focused and driven towards his future than ever before. “I felt as if there was something missing in my life,” says Carter, “with my family in tact, I have a fresh outlook on my life and career as well as new experiences to draw from in my writing and singing.” Armed with three specific objectives for 2007; 1) music- both Backstreet and solo, 2) acting/writing -Nick is entertaining several projects and 3) Environmental activism, Carter is very excited about the direction of both his career and his personal life.Starting his career as the youngest member of the Backstreet Boys at the tender age of twelve and performing all across the world with the group for 14 years, Nick has widely been considered the most popular member of Backstreet and his blonde hair and baby blues have warmed the hearts of adoring fans around the globe. Carter was ranked 1 on the list of Teen Scene Magazine’s “Hottest Under 21,” Teen People named him The Biggest Teen Idol in 2000, E! Online described him as the most gorgeous celebrity on the planet and in 2000 Nick was voted one of People Magazines “50 Most Beautiful People.”In 2002 Nick released his solo debut album, Now or Never, that was certified Gold and he consequently toured around the world making him the first of his band mates to go solo. In 2004, Nick starred in a horror film called, The Hollow, which was a remake of the classic Sleepy Hollow. Film Producer Dan Levin, touted Carter as a natural and cast him in the starring role beating out several well-known names. Nick enjoyed the process of acting so much that he intends to pursue his acting career again after the 2007 tour. Nick is determined to continue being a multi-faceted entertainer dedicated to continuously growing in each discipline.2005 was a busy year for Carter and Backstreet as they released and toured with their Never Gone album which was certified platinum. Backstreet Boys are one of the highest selling bands in history. In 2001 the guys were labeled the highest –paid live entertainers when they sold over $350 million in ticket sales. In 1999 Backstreet solidified one of the largest record deals ever with Jive Records valued at $60 million. From 1992 until today, the Backstreet Boys have toured around the world several times over, released six albums and broke several records. Selling over 73 million records worldwide is an incredible accomplishment and they hold the record for selling the most albums in one week with 500,000 copies in its first week.Recently, Nick has dedicated himself and his resources to saving the environment. He is working with UNEP (the United Nations Environmental Program) and ICRAN to save the World’s Coral Reefs. This March, Nick is scheduled to shake up Capitol Hill to lobby for environmental issues. Nick’s favorite hobbies include everything to do with the Ocean from diving to waterskiing, boating and surfing. Nick is planning to produce a special song and PSA to help raise awareness about the increasing problems occurring from pollution and global warming. On his philanthropic side, Nick commented, “ I am really excited to have an opportunity to help protect the coral reefs which have given me such personal pleasure all my life. I hope to educate fans and viewers on how we call all make a difference towards saving our environment.”
