About Me

Senses Fail is a rock/punk band from Ridgewood, New Jeresy. The current members include James "Buddy" Nielsen -vocals-, Garrett Zablocki -guitar/vocals-, Mike Glita -bass guitar/vocals-, Dan Trapp -drums/vocals-, and newest member Heath Saraceno -guitar/vocals-.
The band got its start around 2001 when lead sing James Nielsen posted an ad over the Internet inviting people to come and help form a band. Dan Trapp(drummer) read the article and dropped by Buddy's house with his friends Garrett Zablocki and Dave Miller. Dan had played with both Garrett and Dave in two separate bands. Bass guitarist James Gill came to them but was replaced by Mike Glita from the band Tokyo Rose. Their first release was From the Depths of Dreams, an EP with six tracks on ECA Records, on August 16, 2002.
This version of the EP sold 1000 copies. From there they re-released the EP on April 29, 2003 on Drive Through Records with two more tracks and new artwork.
This version sold 250,000 copies. They toured for a while and then on September 7, 2004, after much confusion with record deals, released their first full-length album, Let it Enfold You, through Vagrant Records.
This version sold 350,000 copies. After that they went on a co-headlining tour with Saves the Day. The band also posted the departure of guitarist Dave Miller by mutual agreement. The band went and got Heath Saraceno(previously the guitarist/vocalist from the band Midtown) to “fill in” until they found a permanent replacement. The band has recently announced in Guitar World magazine that they relinquished Dave of his position because he refused to improve his guitar playing on his own and when he was instructed too. As well as refusing not to improve, he failed to show up to a photo shoot. The band again re-released another album on November 1, 2005, with a bonus Taste of Chaos DVD and five more songs: one cover, one previously unreleased song, and three acoustic versions of tracks on Let it Enfold You.
This version was included in the 350,000 copies the original sold. The song "Institutionalized" was released on the video game soundtrack for Tony Hawk's American Wasteland in 2005. The band had reached a devastating point when James was overcome by incredible anxiety and later found out he was suffering from clinical depression. While on his pills and with Heath along for the ride they set off for the studio to record their newest album, Still Searching which they announced they would be recording on April 4, 2006. They headed out for Bearsville, New York with producer Brian McTernan. They literally recorded in a barn and announced the completion of the album on June 16, 2006. After declairing the album would be put out on October 3, 2006 they changed it and put it out on October 10, 2006 instead. There is a regular version and a deluxe version with a “making of” DVD.
This CD has sold 200,000 copies and rising. From here Senses Fail has been on their own headlining tour with bands Saosin, Bleeding Through, Alexisonfire, I am the Avalanche, and Drive By. They have been on the Taste of Chaos Tour in 2005 and 2007 and on the International 2006 Tour as well as the Vans Warped Tour since 2004 until 2006(as of now).
As well as all of their album tracks they have a few tracks that are not from any of their albums. These tracks include:
1. "Bastard Son" released on iTunes in 2004.
2. "Bad Reputation(Joan Jett cover)" released on the Bad News Bears Soundtrack in 2005.
3. "Bite to Break Skin Remix" released on the Underworld: Evolution Soundtrack released in 2006.
4. "I know what You Buried Last Summer(Senses Fail and Taking Back Sunday Mix)" released in 2005.
5. "Stretch Your Legs to Coffin Length" released on iTunes in 2006.
6. "Cinco de Mayo" released by a Target special offer in 2006.
-Mike Glita quit Senses Fail in December of 2007 with this statement: "Thanks to everyone who supported the band and me through 'thick and thin' over the past 5 ½ years. You'll be missed greatly."
-"In Hinduism, they believe that being alive is hell, and the only way to reach Nirvana is to ultimately have no attachments to anything. So people go out and live in the middle of the woods and they don't eat and don't drink. They just meditate because they've reached such a high level where they're not attached to love, relationships, or anything. And if you want to reach the highest level of being and see God, you have to have all your senses fail." - James Nielsen
-Heath Saraceno was born on December 21, 1978.
-Mike Glita was born on July 7, 1982.
-James Nielsen was born on February 18, 1984.
-Garrett Zablocki was born on April 6, 1985.

-The title of the song "All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues" is a reference to a LOST episode in the first season about Sawyer.
-The original name of the song "Sick or Sane(Fifty for a Twenty)" was "Crash You Plane into a Barn" and was refered to as that as well as "Fifty for a Twenty" on the 2006 Vans Warped Tour.

-James Nielsen suffered from depression throughout the recording of their album "Still Searching".
-Senses Fail is mentioned in the song "Signing Emo" by MC Lars.

-There is a Senses Fail poster in the House episode "Detox" and also in the movies Transformers and License to Wed.
