DARK ROMANTIC and the freedom of thought:
Clear your head for romanticism: the Rostock/ Germany based trio LIBERTÉ fuses romantic thoughts and melancholy within a dark sound consisting of classically charged electronic arrangements, drums, warm guitar sounds interwoven with beautiful, sensual female and male vocal lines. The interplay of electronics, Goth and Rock guitars, drums and female vocals enchants with emotional ballads und quiet songs but offers tracks with straight, powerful rhythms, too. The band has dubbed their own, very unique style DARK ROMANTIC...
The band was founded back in 1998 and the current line-up of INES HÃœBNER (voc), STEFFEN POHL (keyb, voc) und KARSTEN VEDDER (keyb, voc) dates back to 2000.
In 2002 the band got quite some media attention when their song "Near Dark" ranked number two in a battle of the bands competition sponsored by Sonic Seducer Magazine. Apart from live performances in scene clubs and on festival the musicians gave numerous interviews for radio, internet and print magazines.
With their new CD "Romantique" LIBERTÉ break new ground, for their own career as well as the entire genre. Acoustic drums and electric guitars were added to the electronic sounds, which offer new sound scapes and effects, add to the voices of Ines and Steffen and correspond with classical influences and free thoughts.
These eleven Songs are the essence of five years of studio work, live performances and advanced song writing. Romantic, thoughtful, graceful and emotional tracks are contrasted with straighter, more powerful material, which is still dreamy, sensual and deep. The lyrics, written in mostly in English with only a few in German, deal with dream sequences, mourning and death, desires and loneliness as well as the ever present but hard to reach love.
