Got first guitar at aged 11, being advised by his father to invest the ol' confirmation money into Rock n' Roll. It wasn't until discovering the joys of Nirvana, RHCP, Pearl Jam and other 90's groups, that Cian really got cracking on guitar playing, signing up for guitar lessons, with local jazz guitarist Mark O'Leary at 13. This opened new avenues, linking Cian with Mssrs Mark McAvoy, Paul O'Brien and Steve O'Keefe, going on to play lead guitar with 'Dust'. After playing the legendary Lobby Bar, the band disbanded. Undaunted, Cian continued to play with other like minded souls, playing in bands such as 'Blame' and 'Freefall'. 'Freefall' featured Bishopstown schoolmates Kieran Lane (of Ugly Beautiful) and James Deasy, as well Rochestown drummer Ciaran Madden.More recently Cian pursued a bit of travelling, before returning to his native Cork. 2006 saw the inclusion of 'Hear me out' on the Southern Fried II compilation. 2008, 'Grab a Seat' featured on the 'Wednesday Night Music Club' charity cd, which was awarded 4 stars in a review featured in the Evening Echo newspaper.
Cian has supported some leading Irish acts, such as Mick Flannery and the Aftermath, and is currently working on his debut EP.
