..The Three Musketeers had "All for one and one for all." Our nation's motto is "E Pluribus Unum," or "From many, one." Both are slogans of strength through unity -- the acceptance of differences amongst a diverse group and coming together for its greater good.
For Unfiltered Impulse, it's "5=1." Five musicians, each bringing their own influences to the table and coming together to create a single sound.
As a band whose formation was a fluke, a group of musicians brought together with the sole purpose of performing one gig with three weeks of preparation in the late summer of 2003, Unfiltered Impulse is no stranger to pressure. A band with this sort of determination also finds no problem in creating great music out of virtually any and every idea brought in by any of its members. Whether the bass player brings an idea for a punk ballad that is later transformed into a song laced with blues and country influences, or a guitarist introduces a seemingly emo sounding riff to create a catchy, but hard-rocking 90's influenced song about hope for the future, UI creates a sound that is familiar to all, yet unique in it's execution.
None of this would be possible without an Unfiltered Impulse.
