About Me

Pugilist and apothecary, which is to say screenwriter by day and wine seller by night. I like my music on vinyl, my movies on film, my food on the grill and my cards on the table. Also, I don't mind being bald, except that it bothers other people, even me. I'm a poor bastard right now but I have a feeling I won't stay that way, except for the bastard part. I make bad jokes, worse jokes and downright terrible ones. But give me land, lots of land, under starry skies and my restless soul is unbound. Then why do I live in New York? My friends are here, my family is here and there's so much to do. Now if I only had a little money to enjoy those things...

"Don't you realize? The next time you see sky, it'll be over another town. The next time you take a test, it'll be in some other school. Our parents, they want the best of stuff for us. But right now, they got to do what's right for them. Because it's their time. Their time! Up there! Down here, it's our time. It's our time down here. That's all over the second we ride up Troy's bucket." --Mikey from "The Goonies"

First Impressions of NYC

The beauty here is so hard, it has rarely melted more than a thimble from my heart. So far. The beauty is cracked, and peeling, and weeping, and crumbling, cast off in the wind. Facades to weary bodie...

gene frequencies in random populations

There's so much more pressure to writing these now that everyone is alerted, but oh well, I haven't written anything in a while and thought I'd let my friends know what's going on with the old boy. To...

On Breaking Laws

And at the same time, I can't fault them, for they know not what they do. They live by what they know. What has worked and still works. They think if they can keep their children's eyes and ears from ...

Alive? As far as I can tell. Awake? Usually once or twice a day. Engaged? No. Not with the world, nor life, nor in the sense involving an expensive piece of rounded metal. I'm quickly running out of e...

Don't read this!

Well, I've already got numerous journals running at any given moment so what's one more? Today is one of those days. It hurts, not to lose, but why we lost. The fact that all those ballot initiatives ...
