The Chain

HAVE A GOOD TIME, ALL THE TIME

About Me

The Chain is the creative abilities of Bryan watts, Scott Gossett, blended with the melodic lyricism of Doug Penfield, all rounded out by the solid rhythm section of Pelham Britt and Anthony Gossett. The Chain began with lead guitar player and songwriter Scott Gossett’s effort to create a collaborative musical environment that would fit his creative needs. After many experimental projects Scott started posting flyers at local music stores hoping to find his perfect group. What he got was Doug Penfield. After Scott heard Doug sing he knew he was on his way to creating the band he had always wanted. Scott and Doug then began the search for the other band members. The first bass player that Scott knew of was his cousin Anthony Gossett who’s musical abilities were well rounded enough to fit in with Scott and Doug’s sound. The Chain then went through a couple trial drummers who were ultimately not what the band was missing. One night at a show The Chain saw Pelham Britt playing in a band and thought he might be what they needed. They approached him after the show and Pelham said he was interested in a side project. Before long Pelham had found a new home and The Chain was complete. The Chain is all about making music that feels good. They do not try to do anything but what comes natural. Their sound is unique and inviting as if to say, “Listen…this is who we are.” So come listen, because The Chain is here to stay.

Band Members: we like to think of ourselves as the chairmen of the board. The chain is a much bigger concept then what we do on stage and in the studio. The attempt it to create music under a vibe, a peaceful, free spirited, and chaotic vibe. Chaotic in the way that there is no rhyme or reason, or a need for a reason. Just feeling what you feel. Anyone who feels they can contribute should.
Influences: anyone musically, creatively, comedically, or even emotionally that has ever made us feel anything
