About Me

"The world’s shortest double bass player". Probably...I came to Leeds in 2001 to study for my degree in Jazz and have recently finished studying for a masters degree in Musicology (not just a good Prince album!). Since graduating I have spent plenty of time playing and teaching both bass guitar and double bass in and around Leeds. I’m currently keeping myself busy with a variety of projects...I’m a full time member of the Redwood Thinkers (Leeds based acoustic-rock-pop band) in which they’re kind enough to let me indulge my jazzy-noodley fantasies every once in a while. They’re a lovely bunch. (www.redwoodthinkers.co.uk)I’ll also be visiting a town near you (ish) with singer/guitarist Kit Holmes- a very accomplished musician whose often on tour with guitarist John Etheridge. (www.kitholmes.co.uk)I have also joined the lovely yorkshire-based, Durbervilles. They are very friendly, funny and write a good ol’ tune- oh and you can listen to them on tut radio (BBC Radio leeds, 8-9pm sunday evenings).
