100 mile house are an English boy named Peter and a Canadian girl named Denise.
They met in Toronto in 2003 and, after a wedding and some frantic transatlantic flights, settled in London, England where they went about creating 100 mile house. After quickly building up a following through their intimate live shows they grew into a 5 piece ensemble with which they played 6 months of riotous shows at the legendary Water Rats.
By the end of Summer 2008, disenchanted with the London music scene and what came with it, the pair moved to a converted plumbers factory in South London where they slowly found their voice again.
With a pair of microphones, a guitar and 2 voices they began recording songs that spanned their entire relationship resulting in their debut EP ‘on that organ in the house by the field’.
Released on 23rd November 2008 on their own label ‘hole in my shoe productions’ the 4 song disc not only acts as a record that perfectly captures the time, space and chemistry between 2 performers but also as an introduction to a song writing partnership that has endless potential and possibility.
At the beginning of 2009 they moved to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to hide in the snow and share their music with the big country. While setting their roots once again they made contact with old friend Scott Zubot who injected a new lease of life into the house. With some raucous and inspiring violin and mandolin playing he has become an invaluable member of the 100 mile house line up with whom he can be seen playing shows in and around Alberta this Summer.
