Shakespeare once asked the question, “What’s in a name?†for a name is only a title. “J-$tinga†is one of the many titles this individual goes by; however it does not define him. He remains just as talented under any name he answers to. Producer J-$tinga, has much to offer the world of music, and intends to do so with each project he is a part of.
J-$tinga has surrounded himself with music, which has become his life. With experience as an ‘on-air’ DJ and music director for KCRH radio, assistant producer for Energy 92.7, and 6 years of beat production, Stinga is an asset to any music team, and has only begun to master his sound.
Current projects include the “re:Mix-Tape†featuring a select squad of west coast artists, and showcasing beats form J-$tinga, Musical Mercenaries and more. In addition to the mix tape, Stinga is working closely with team member – and his featured artist – Brian Einstein to complete the album titled “Like My Lastâ€. The two have a completed demo of the album titled “The Bright Idea†available on i-Tunes now.
The Journey began as a recent high school grad with a computer, Fruity-Loops software, and a thirst for good music. After months in front of a computer screen creating beat after beat, Stinga found himself co-managing a mix tape project with variety of bay area artists. The mix tape was recorded in popular bay area studio “The Grillâ€, which has housed many music artist ranging from George Clinton, De la Soul, and Outcast, to the late Mac Dre, The Federation, and Too $hort.
J-$tinga’s love for music has placed him behind this scenes, instruments, and desk equipment, to in front of artists, managers, and even crowds while on stage as a hype man. With many names, J-$tinga as many musical talents, but is only defined by the legacy he intends to build ahead of him.
